Seems like all of the approvals are being done in Ottawa. My VO is Sydney, Nova Scotia, does anyone know if their processing time is slower?

If you can convince your employer to write the employment on the company’s letterhead you could appeal the decision and you will most likely be approved. Everything lies on that reference letter from your employer. Good luck
Thank you for your response. Company will never provide it, I tried hard before filing my application :-(

I’m really sorry to hear you got rejected. Seems like there’s no wiggle room for you around getting that employment letter. I would go speak to HR in person or find a supervisor who has access to company letterhead or who can speak to an even bigger boss on your behalf. Like if you were leaving, who would you go to for a stellar reference..go to that person first and hope they can help. Then file an appeal with letter along with explanation. I truly hope you find a way to get your company to budge.

I am also considering filing for an appeal, could you suggest the way to do it myself, otherwise I might have to contact a lawyer.

Really sorry to hear about this. Like a previous person suggested, try and get the letter, and if you can't, still appeal. You clearly stated why you couldn't get the reference letter and attached evidence, plus you provided other proof that you work there and have valid experience. Don't give up hope or get too down on yourself.
I've read of cases were people were denied the visa, appealed and their application was approved. I also suggest you contact your MP.
I wish you the best of luck and God speed
Hi, I really appreciate your response. It's a big setback, and so I was actually doing lots of over thinking in past couple of days and was hard on myself. Thanks for the supportive words.

I am now thinking to go for an appeal, would you be able to suggest the way forward for the same.
Somebody also suggested me to meet the MP of my constituency because firstly, I provided all the evidence whatever I could but it's beyond my control to fulfill the requirement of this specific letter..secondly, he didn't even send any ADR and directly refused the application, so do you have a clue if the exercise of meeting MP would be helpful?

I would suggest speaking to a lawyer and seeing if there is other evidence that you can provide, or if there is a way you can get enough points without claiming that job or something. I'm sorry that this is happening to you, how frustrating!! But honestly I don't really know why people think it is OK to hassle their MP with individual visa cases, don't they have better things to do than deal with people's immigration problems? The system is set up for a reason and it needs to be fair for everyone and standardised

Your PR is approved they just need to stamp the Visa in your passport and issue a COPR. Then when you land, They mail your PR card to you. Congratulations

There was no communication, it was a direct refusal.
Hi there!

I keep reading this thread passively. I can't say I understand the tough time you are going through right now, but will tell you not to give up if you have got everything right. Pursue all measures available with prudence and resources available with you.
There are cases, where people have got PR with reference letter submitted similarly as yours. Hence, I can only suggest few things as below:

1. Double check everything that you have submitted related to your work (I know you would have already, however no error before going for an appeal).
2. Particularly check that job duties match with your NOC and you have the required no. of hours of work-exp. (You can prove this in several ways). Your letter that you submitted, from your colleagues / seniors - check if you can get them notorized. Also, if there are more than one colleague / seniors at your work place who are willing to write the same letter for you, get that as additional reinforcement to your letter.
3. Please research a lot, definitely take advise from an authorized immigration lawyer and ensure there are no loose ends - before you go for appeal. Below is just one link I can suggest, you might have to surf a lot on such forums to get a clear picture.

https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/post-e-apr-process-and-common-reasons-for-rejection.510587/page-112

Good luck, and know that whatever happens, happens for good, irrespective of what happens with this application of yours.

Godspeed!

PS: I am a 12 Sept.2019 AOR, PNP-O, CIO Sydney, family of 4, applying from India, got the ITA after 5 years of waiting and keeping the faith that whatever happens next, it can only be for a greater good!!

URGENT HELP NEEDED

Hello all,

I received an email today from IRCC requesting an address in Edmonton, AB where I will be residing. I am currently in Montreal, QC on a closed-work permit. I found a job in Edmonton, AB and applied for a new closed work permit that hasn't been decisioned yet.

In my previous correspondence with IRCC I mentioned to them that I have applied for a new work permit, and my contract in Montreal will end on 31/01/2020, and I am prepared to leave Montreal on that day and go to Edmonton to begin my new employment if my work permit or PR is issued by then. But without a new work permit or PR I cannot go to Edmonton to begin my employment.

I don't yet have an address in Edmonton since I haven't moved there yet, but I can provide the address of a friend with whom I can stay until I find an apartment. Would that be sufficient?

What do you recommend?

Thank you in advance.

Providing friends address should not be a problem. With explanation if possible so it’s clear you won’t be breaching the current closed work permit. Either way, I think you’ll be fine
