Daily commute (Detroit-Windsor) (H1b and Canada PR)

You said that you would "commute to Windsor daily and come back after school" but now you say you would stay. If you move to Canada then cbsa wont ask much questions.
Not sure what you meant about tue-thu commute. is this commute to windsor?

like my husband will keep his primary residency in the states. I keep mine in canada. I commute 2-3 times to Detroit every week..will that work?

because I want to keep my H4.... if he stays primarily in the us, i wont be able to use h4

Once you move to windsor, you might not be able to retain h4. seen mixed experiences at border. good luck.

Seems you wanted both things at the same time. Still you are making complicated plans.
My colleague's wife's (Canadian) visitor entry was denied because she was trying to enter via B1 to stay with the F1 spouse. Border guys wanted her to get F2. So its possible that some will ask you to get H4 and some might say that you are not moving hence will hesitate to admit you on H4 - dont know which officer will interpret the rules to admit you on h4 or on b1. So you should consult the lawyer.
Also Its better you wait till the govt takes decision on H4ead and then take a call.

Even one of my buddy's visitor visa entry got denied because he said he want to meet his wife then both go for shopping ( she is on H1b ) officer said to enter in to USA you need H4 not B1 to meet your spouse ...

H4 is not valid once you move out of US.

Once you move out of USA yeah you are correct, you dont have H4 status anymore, but if you live in USA and commute to Canada for work and come back and stay in USA then no issues at all

I did call , they simply tell you it depends on the officer , but why cant you call, just call them you will have your own satisfaction that you did your best, but once you get the information please post here the info for future people, thank you

Quick question on changing Nexus card delivery address and bringing sofa-mattress through land border.
1)I applied for Nexus card few days ago and yet to receive the interview request.
Now, I will be moving my apartment from Detroit to Windsor on last week of January. I gave Detroit address at the time of Nexus application. Now if they call me for interview, can I change the address to Windsor and have them deliver it there instead of original given Detroit address?
2)Can I bring my sofa and mattress in my own pickup truck through Tunnel(or Bridge) without any issue or do we have to get it fumigated?

Can i know what went wrong at your trip?
I am not sure if you carried the documents but people move with furnitures and household goods across the canada-US border and not seeing much issues as long as we have correct documents and purpose.

1. They would accept it as people move all the time after logging the application. Just get the address proof to show that you moved which should be enough. Yes change it during the interview or even call them before to update it if they can.
2. I took uhaul to take my things. No issue at cbsa. when i was returning i was asked for passport and questioned whether i will still be working in US or moving permanently to Canada for which i answered that i would be commuting daily and will be working in US. I should have carried my other documents such as I797, payslips etc. Also the stapled extended I94 was not in passport and he was asking what was stapled and why it was not there. Later he asked me to show the license to verify that i was staying in detroit or not. So better carry full documents for canada and US when you are taking uhaul so that it wont be problem at both sides.
