for me its almost 24 months and when I called at the immigration number they said they do not need any extra documents now and its under document review, to be particular (background check). I mean I applied my federal in jan 2018, got my medical may 2018, married july 2018, added my wife in sept 2018, gave all documents again with my wife's police clearance and marriage proofs and everything in January 2019, my wife got her medical in may 2019, she came here on visitor visa in june 2019, its been 6 months till her medical done, and immigration still doing background check, I did not get it can someone pls explain it to me what does it mean, and how many more steps left.

Hi everyone,

My file for PNP PR is also under processing. I have cleared the medical and Now I want to add my spouse to my current application. As mentioned on CIC website, I raised an enquiry through web form but the reply I got was vague and they didn't even ask for documents. How did you guys inform CIC about the change? How long it took to receive a reply from them? What all documents I need to prepare.
I shall be very thankful to you for your quick reply.

Regards,
Saurabh Sharma
For me it was 1 week

I hope everyone is well! I am new to this thread and hope you guys can help me with my plan & situation.

Current situation & status here in Canada: PGWP holder & Ontario Nominee (granted last Nov 27)

The plan is, me and my boyfriend are planning to get married this December 2019 in Philippines so I can include him to my PR application.
My questions are:
  • I'll be back in January 2020, what sort of documents/ID's do I need to update in terms of marital status? (i.e Health card, Photo card, etc.)
  • Does this kind of plan feasible to do? or it looks questionable that I got married after I was nominated?
  • Or is it better to include his name AFTER i submitted my PR application instead? I read from cic website that you cannot sponsor a spouse if the PR application is still on process.

Inputs on my questions and current situation will be high appreciated! Many thanks in advance!
Hello, my situation was also the same. I got PNP and applied for PR, then on 25th march I got married in the middle of process. 28th march I got an update that my medical is passed. I called the same day on IRCC phone number that I got married. The lady on phone said that she is going to send me the required docs for adding wife to my ongoing application. I submitted the docs they requested and after almost 70 days they added my wife to my application. So you just need to call IRCC after getting married and they will guide you what to do next.

Thanks
