Hi to everyone,
I have a question regarding the Ielts test and applicant’s profile requirements.
I am an Albanian native future applicant aged 38 while my wife is 30 and we have a child of 4 years old.
Both me and my wife took the Ielts test and achieved respectively in speaking (7;7) reading (7;7,5) listening (6,5;7)and writing (5,5;5,5).
Our overall results are 6,5 and 7.
My wife has the master degree, while on 9th of October 2019 I finished my PhD studies for Medicinal Herbs’ Marketing in the Agricultural University of Tirana.
Please, according to our actual results and abilities is there any chance for us to apply and win the express entry pool?

Best regards,
Lukas

Check what your score will be on the calculator. You should out your wife as the primary holder because she’s younger which would gain you more points. I think the IELTS score is too low and you really should try to get 8777 with 8 being achieved in listening.

I'm afraid you don't stand a chance now. According to the informaion you've provided, your score is just above 300. In order to get 470+ score, you not only have to get at least 8777 IELTS, but also learn French and achieve a intermediate-advanced level to get the extra score. I know this sucks, but the immigration system clearly discriminate against applicants who are over 30 years old.

Maybe you should check the immigration policies of different provinces to see if your job can help you secure a provincial nomination.

unfortunately you don’t stand a chance in Express Entry. IELtS scores should be 8888 or 8777 in LRWS to come close to the cutoff score

You have some good academic credentials. Research about all the PNP programs and try to see where / which province has the demand for Agri-research. If some PNP programs pick your application, with that approval apply for EE and get an Invitation... Good Luck

Dear friends,
Thank you very much for your replies! I really appreciate it!
In fact, I have a contract with a Canadian lawyer company, who are assisting me online during the application procedure, (I don’t want to cite their name) anyway they insist with the idea that I need to take the Ielts test for at least 6 and above for each section. I am mostly focusing my studies on the writing section and hopefully in the beginning of the next year will enter again the exam.
I hope to take better marks this time!
Trust me, it is not easy when you enter in a class with 150 people and sit for 3 hours without moving, while at the same time having some Albanian assistants that work for the British Council who come and stay on your head like you are copying from the air by breathing.
After all, I will try again to give the assessment. If I fail achieving the right results, I will contact the company and ask them if there is any other better option.
Otherwise, I will give up and continue my life in here, even though I have spent a lot of money to prepare my documents and the layers fees.

Once again thank you for your advices.

Sincerely,
Lukas

how much have you paid so far if i may ask? also, ask the lawyers now about what all your options are. that's why you're paying them (it's one of the reasons i often discourage lawyers). If you did your diploma equivalency for the two of you as well as ielts for two, it would be about 1000 USD total. that was all we paid until we got ITA. if you have a straightforward profile, you won't need a lawyer. do your points calculation and see where you are compared to cutoff, and then play around the calculator to see what you need.

It is a long story, that started from my ex colleague who is actually living in Montreal.
She introduced to me their site, I calculated my data through their online pre-application form and after a few days was contacted and so we started the procedures.
I have already done my educational evaluations and also have paid for both me and my wife for the first IELTS tests.
While the lawyers fees where paid by 2 installments, each one of 1000 CAD.
In order of not loosing the agreement with them, which is for 1 year assistance, emailed them to put my application in a pending status, so meantime I learn and try to achieve better results.
They had opened for me and my wife also a profile in the Canadian lottery under their supervision, which after my email was already closed.
Sincerely I’m learning to improve my writing skills, but if it's not worth to continue like this than please what do you advise me to do?

Best regards,
Lukas

Honestly, I believe that somehow I’m missing the right information.
I strongly believe that in Canada are many people who live their life and are on the same English level.
Overall, if I come there for sure I’m going to make improvements with my vocabulary, but still don’t understand why the information is being kept and I’m not told the right ways to emigrate.
For example, I have 16 years of working experience through several companies in my country, perhaps this should be another option that my lawyer could use to improve my chances of being accepted?

Sincerely, don’t know what will happen, but I will try one more time the test, after that if I fail don’t think I will have the will to re-enter again.
