I got a message from CIC that I had clicked no instead of clicking yes when asked if I have been refused a Canadian visa before. I have responded to the mail but do I still have chances of getting my application approved?

The chances of approval are on the lower side since you incorrectly answered this question. There is a small chance you may still be approved. There is certainly a chance you may be refused. Also possible that you could be refused and banned from Canada for 5 years for misrepresentation.

Did you explain your refusals or did you not say anything at all?

Your outcome is going to be 1 of 3 options:

1. A refusal and a ban for 1-5 years from Canada. This is possible.

2. A refusal. This is most likely.

3. A miracle in that the visa officer accepts your statement that you clicked the wrong button. This is very unlikely.
