Edit: Sorry for the butchered title, I meant "What should I get while I'm in the states for my Sponsorship application"

Following up on a previous post, under the financial support of my girlfriend and both of her parents, my Visitor Extension was granted until November 31st. With future plans to apply for being a permanent resident, I came back down to the states on November 14th to apply for a passport, making my total stay length about 15 months between August 1st 2018 and November 14th 2019.

I will be returning to Canada at the beginning of February to apply for an Open Work Permit and Family Class Sponsorship as common-law partners with my girlfriend. I want to make sure that I get everything I need while I'm here in Washington for the application.

I have the following:
  • Birth Certificate
  • Enhanced ID
  • Social Security Card
  • Passport
  • All previous documents relevant to entering / exiting Canada
I don't have any criminal history, but I heard some applications need fingerprints or background checks to be submitted as well. Because I don't want to have to come back if I've forgotten something, anything similar that I need to get while in the United States I want to make sure I get while I'm here.

I'm sure I will be back with another post when filling out the Sponsorship and Work Permit applications.

Thanks for reading.

TL;DR
What documents do I need to make sure I have from the US for my future Family Class Sponsorship and Open Work Permit applications? (Travel Documents, Photos, ID, any kind of checks, etc)

Strongly recommend that you post in the Family Class section of the forum rather than here. This is where you'll find the vast majority of discussions on spousal sponsorship.

Sure thing. If someone wants to delete this post, go ahead. (or if there is a way for me to do it, let me know). Thanks :)
