HI Friends,

Its been over 10 months now that I am still waiting for any updation for my PR application. My AOR date is 22 January 2019. Medicals passed and Biometrics done in March 2019. After that request received for RPRF on 26 Sep 2019 which I paid on the same day. After that no updation. Raised an enquiry in Aug 2019 and got the below reply.

Please be informed that your application is currently in queue for review by an officer. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide you with a date on which your file will be reviewed.

and they also had an internal conversation which is listed as below as the same was also sent to me.

The last BF/due date for this client's application was 2019/05/20. The client is asking for an update on their file since no action was taken and delays have passed. Could you please verify?

Still no update after that. GCMS notes also applied on 21 September 2019 but not received yet. Last week sent web form query for the status update of my application and received generic response as below.

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.
All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment.

From the above, it seems that they have not yet started processing my application. Also my CIC account shows the following info.

Review of eligibility
We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.

Background check
We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

Kindly guide if CIC is taking that much time to finalize the applications. Moreover my medical will expire on 08 January 2020. Will they send me the request for re-medicals? I hope everything will be OK and goes well.

Thanks

Yes, IRCC is taking more than 10 months to finalize some applications. And there are many people in this forum like you who are still waiting for the PPR email. I know its worrisome that the officer has not touched your case yet, however once they start working on the case, eligibility and criminality can be cleared in less than a week. At this point all we can do is wait patiently.

IRCC usually either sends a re-medical request or extends your medicals when they are ready to finalize your case. Good luck on your application. Hope you get the PPR soon. :)

Security is completed and now they are ready to issue your PPR but need you to do medical once again so you would have enough time to land after COPR is issued

Hi

I need your help. It's urgent. I received my COPR and passport stamped last week. But they issued COPR for a very short period of time which will expire on 4th Jan 2020. I am planning to fly to Canada on 21st of december. As I heard that it takes 2 months time to issue the new permanent residence card once you land to Canada. My question is my COPR might get expires before receiving my permanent residence card after I land to Canada. As my COPR will remain valid for a few days after I land it to Canada, there is a chance that I will receive my PR card after the expiry of the COPR. My question is how long the COPR is valid after you land it to Canada? Is it safe to land Canada 1 month before the expiry date of COPR?? Please let me know it's urgent.
You need not worry. You can land until a day before COPR expires. And after that your COPR is treated as you are PR inside canada. You can get SIN, health insurance etc based on COPR. You do not need PR card for that.
You cannot however re-enter Canada based on copr. You need PR card to re-enter. Normally pR card is received in 3-6 weeks.

Do note to preserve your COPR as that will be needed if you file for citizenship in Canada in future.

PM me if you have any other queries

Aloha everyone,

A ghost update appeared on my profile yesterday, and medical exam status changed to "You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes."

Would that indicate that they extended my medical results or are they going to request for a re-med soon enough ?
Why the heck is your application taking that long?

Hi Guys,
I have received AOR on 15 Jan and still waiting for my PPR
My status has been updated this week which is as follows:
Medicals were passed in Feb but now it is showing 25 november 2019
Biometrics were showing the generic message that we havent recieved your fingerprints yet... Now it says jan 15 2019 completed
Background is still in progress.

Can anyone please explain me where I am at in terms of process if someone else is on the same stage?
How much time it normally takes after the medicals extension?

Appreciate your comments
Thanks

I guess it will come very soon since your medicals was extended. Just hang in a little bit longer.
We have same AOR but mine hasn't been extended, neither have I gotten a re-med request.
Are you in Ottawa VO or CIO?

But then what was the Ghost update you had recently all about? Have you called them to know what is happening ?

Same shoes as me , I had this happening yesterday and to my knowledge it means that they finalized everything and are now ready to send a passport request which should come in no time (3-5 days at most )

Regards,,,

Yes I have. Sadly, file is still in progress. I asked specifically for eligibility and security, to which agent said "Eligibility is still in progress/under review and security not started yet"
As far as the agent saw, nothing passed yet so he doesn't know what the update is about.
I'm a little scared since i still haven't received my GCMS and i dunno what is going on.
