After seeming like everything is going at a snails pace, things are moving very quickly now. We submitted the passport on Friday AM PH Time and Monday Afternoon PH Time it is already on it's way back to Cebu, probably will be ready for pick up tomorrow. We are planning for my wife to fly the following week.

Looked in on GCKEY this morning and it appears that our background check was completed on Aug 20th. My wife did message MVO a few days before we got our DM to ask about our app, so if your application has been in MVO for an update so that may have triggered a review . Do not message if your application just arrived in the last month but if you have been there since before Sept you may want to ask. Just don't ask every week.

There are not any seminars, the pre-arrival services are optional. Last step after the passport is the GCP/PDOS, my wife completed her GCP already and just needs to get her sticker and she can fly anytime.

What is GCP/PDOS?
GCP is the Guidance and Counselling Program is for spouses who marry a foreign citizen.

https://cfo.gov.ph/gcp.html

PDOS is Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar is for spouses who are married to a Filipino spouse.

https://cfo.gov.ph/rnr-pdos.html

It is Mandatory and you will receive a sticker in your passport that you have completed it. If you do not have it then you can not fly, they will stop you at Immigration in the Philippines.

Thank you for the info! So I am the Canadian sponsor and she is filipina. So she only has to do the GCP and not the PDOS right ? Does.she need to have her passport with the Visa to attend ? Or can she attend while she is waiting to get it back from VFS?

Correct just the GCP. We got ours without the Visa, so she should sign up.

She will need the following
Requirements (with or without visa)
  1. Two (2) original valid identification cards with photograph (see samples below);
  2. Duly completed guidance and counseling form to be secured at the CFO;
  3. If married in the Philippines, original Certificate of Marriage on security paper from the Philippine Statistical Authority (PSA);
  4. If married overseas, original Report of Marriage duly registered by the Philippine Embassy/Consulate or the Department of Foreign Affairs; and
  5. Payment of PhP400.00 counseling and registration fee.

You get that at the office when you go. Have her arrive atleast 1 hour before to fill out the forms.
