what are you trying to say? your wall of text is incredibly confusing.

you claim that these nigerian applicants are genuine - how did you know? dont forget that a majority of asylum seekers to canada come from nigeria in the first place!

and for the "who will invest such amount of money into Canadian education and not want to stay back?" a simple google search proved that there a lot of stories about people not wanting to stay here. so when you imply that everyone wants to stay on in canada is utterly false.

and judging one's success rate based on the success rates of others is actually a fallacy but i cant remember which one it falls under.
I see that you want some cheap popularity here, it's fine if it makes you happy, knock yourself out.

1. Those who open their minds and read beyond texts only will understand my wall of texts its plain English, if you need help just simply ask.

2. You ask a question how do I know they are 'genuine', so how do you know they are not?! That is such a ridiculous question. The embassy has laid down rules and minimum requirements for anyone wishing to apply for a study permit. Genuineness is measured by whether the person meets or exceeds this requirement or not. So, If the person meets the minimum requirements and applies then that is sufficient evidence that they are genuine, the onus is on the VO to provide counter-evidence that they are not... The whole process is based on evidence not the action of others. So the Indians, Filipinos, and other Asians who are on the student direct system getting visa approvals in 3 weeks have the intention to return to their home countries, right? You must be joking...

3. What has asylum seekers from the US got to do with those who are applying legitimately for a study permit? Again you are just pushing what you read without considering the facts. Is it only Nigerians that are at the Canadian border asking for asylum? Furthermore, the asylum seekers already broke immigration rules by running from the US to the Canadian border, so why is Canada granting people who want to enter the country under false pretenses and not to those legitimately applying from Nigeria, whatever is good for the goose is good for the gander.. To judge the intentions of Nigerians based on the behavior of a few is the very definition of discrimination, which Canada's ethos is very much against.

4. You are reaching. I never implied everyone wants to stay back. I only go by the evidence provided, if they meet the requirements for getting a study permit then the decision should be objective and not based on stereotypes. So I cannot know the intents of one's heart... Besides the study permit is a dual intent visa. That simply means there is nothing wrong with an applicant having a primary desire to study and a secondary desire to immigrate and settle in the country. It is allowed by the Canadian govt under the visa rules, so what if they wish to stay back, is it your business? You did not address the issue of post-graduate work permit which allows international students to settle in the country... How do you reconcile that the country has an opened a route to retain students after graduation, if there is an incentive to stay back after making such a huge investment, those who are wise will stay back, those who are stupid will return, I don't know which of the both you are yet. So if the Canadians have made a study permit a dual intent visa, then why are they worried that students may not return?

5. Your conclusion is ridiculous. If I have offered advice to some, they can choose what to do with it or not. If you cannot comprehend English you should get someone to assist you... If person after person contact me personally, and they are HNI and they have met all that is required for them to get their permits approved but still being denied, then I should still tell others to go ahead and blindly apply without critically thinking about the success rates, is that not why the articles are there so that people can decide if its what's the effort?

You just came here to dabble into what you have limited knowledge about, I know those on this thread are smart they won't follow stupid advice from clueless people. You are like some guy who claimed he applied for a study permit from the UK while on a tier-1 study permit in the UK that is almost expired...I told him he is unlikely to get the permit, he was proving he knew what he was doing... I asked him to come and give us feedback when he gets his visa approved, I am yet to hear from him... You will not educate yourself on the trends and facts of the matter, you just want to come and gain cheap popularity.

Why are you here by the way, are you an applicant, if not you should just move on and stop exposing your level of ignorance at least about this matter.

So please take some Fanta orange and sit down!

Nonsense...

Hello Thadopeone95,

I am sorry to hear about your situation. This is part of what I am saying, what expertise does a VO have to determine if an applicant for a particular program, after the school has adjudged him eligible for the program, then someone will come and start talking nonsense. Sorry, bro, I digressed a little.

Honestly, bro, I do not know how to advise you at this point, the embassy is not really following any rules at the moment to come to their decision. I would suggest applying for the CAIPS GCMS notes when you get it, let's have a look and we may be able to offer advice to assist.

Cheers.

Advice?
online application 26th Sept
biometrics, background check 03 Oct
medicals passed 29th Oct
review of eligibility 31st Oct
final decision 1st Nov
Rejected on grounds - "I am not satisfied you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, based on
family ties (I am a 23year old single lady, no family in Canada, parents and siblings in Nigeria)
the purpose of visit (to study an advanced diploma, did a Bsc in England already, could it be why? )
current employment status (NGO staff, not sure what's wrong here)."

Not sure how to proceed, any tips?

is it worth it to re-apply next year? maybe I could decide what to do for my masters then smh.

Nothing is wrong with your application, but somethings are not quite right with the Canadian embassy at the moment. Perhaps you may want to consider pursuing your Masters in the UK. When you finish you get two post-graduate work permit. You can gain two years of work experience in the UK, when you are done, you can either pursue the Express Entry option to Canada, stay back in the UK or return to Nigeria. You are young, the world is ahead of you, do not waste time on Canadian study permit.

All the best.

Omofar - do you understand english and logic???

you were the one who claimed they are genuine and by genuine it means intention. asking me how i think they are not genuine is not relevant for i did not claim i know whether or not they are genuine OR not genuine explicity. i simply asked how you knew their true inner feelings and hence whether they are genuine or not. obviously you CANNOT know for sure just like i do.

"and what has asylum seekers got to do with"... as you asked? thats because the vo thinks they are simply using study as an excuse to enter canada to seek asylum. as i said, lots of asylum seekers in canada are from nigeria and this is WELL DOCUMENTED and i actually didnt think i would need to point it out. for those who enter from the usa like you said - how did you think they managed to enter? by pretending to be interested in visiting usa as a tourist or as a student right??? these people clearly met the requirements as you stated but are they HENCE genuine like you claimed? obviously not.

you clearly cannot understand simple logic like this but you can bash me for wanting cheap popularity?

you also said "Now let us not kid ourselves, who will invest such amount of money into Canadian education and not want to stay back?" and i said a simple google search proved otherwise. but you now claim "I never implied everyone wants to stay back" who is directly contradictory. If you still cannot see how i can point you to the words "who will..." and "not want to..." hence, learn to make up your mind instead of raging at me.

dont tell me to "get someone to assist me if i cannot understand english" again when i already proved that you are the one who does not

and i already told you that judging one's success based on others is a fallacy. i believe its called appeal to common practice or something like that. if you want to argue about this please do write a paper and argue with logicians of the world for I DID NOT invent this fallacy

i also did not say that they must ignore your words and only follow mine. so your point about people can choose to... is unnecessary.

your part about "Why are you here by the way, are you an applicant, if not you should just move on and stop exposing your level of ignorance at least about this matter." again is very humorous and obviously a fallacy. I do not have to be an applicant to speak about a subject or to be here in the first place. nor does only being an applicant will mean that one will have knowledge on this subject and non-applicants will not like what your sentence implies. not sure where you got these dumb ideas from.

instead of calling me "nonsense" you should really use your brain first before you speak, or rage at me
You probably studied philosophy

i am, but i did not need to study philosophy to counter omofar's pathetic "arguments" and butthurt rage. its just some kind of simple questioning character of mine that allows me to do so.
What I dont like about him is that he use old experience to judge present situations but he never realises things changes. Anyways all is well. But I like your logic

Hi,
can someone please help with this. I tracked my application with the VFS office and the status is showing "passport is ready for collection". I applied for a study visa and through paper application, hence no up front medicals. What does this mean?
