I am so sorry to hear this. Refusals were so unheard of previously and now it's happening every other week. It's so annoying and disheartening especially after 8 months of waiting. They should at least give you an opportunity to plead your case.
Like others have said before me, you should contact an attorney to see if you can appeal the refusal. Although I agree re-applying would be an easier option since you have gained experience in these 8 months.
@Brainteaser ..I second that. Probably an attorney can see what experience letter you submitted and compare it with the Job duties of NOC code 2141. If there is a match, then you stand a chance to request IRCC to re-consider.

One thing I did not understand is if Officer can send ADR to you for Pay stubs and tax returns in September, why could not they send another one asking clarification on job duties based on NOC you selected.

Hello all, my application was refused today on the grounds of NOC code not matching the job duties. Is there a way to appeal this decision? I have gained more experience since the submission of application in the NOC I listed on my application.

Here is summary:

Aor- Feb 9
CRS 449
NOC 2141
Med -Mar 26
ADR- Sep 13- paystubs/tax returns
Refusal letter- Oct 11

Didn’t expect them to reject my application for NOC mismatch after 8 months.

what are my options?
Sorry to hear that. This is getting crazy... These basic validation should be part of initial check not a ground for rejection 8 months later.
As others have said, your best option is to reapply. Match your R&Rs to NOC code or see if there is anothe NOC code which is similar. There are some NOC with lot of overlap.

Additionally if security and medical are all done recently, your application might get processed faster!

You can file for petition/challenge but that is going to be longer process

This is what's so annoying. Why did it take them 8 months to figure out that the NOC code didn't match?

I am very disappointed at the whole system. I feel like one of these days I will hear something terrible like this too.

In last one month or so only I am seeing refusals in the forum. I don't remember seeing many refusals few months back :(

Hello lovely patient people,

I just called CIC to know the status of my application.

Agent wasnt of much help!

Said the file is not under review but in que for review by an officer however the decision might take upto 15th Feb, 2020 and also as I have requested for a fresh GCMS notes on 1st October, 2019 so it might get out of the que as they will print the notes first and then it will again go back in que which will further delay the decision!

Not sure how right was she or was she just scaring me so that we dont call often and order notes!

Now only God can take care of this!

I wish speedy PPR for everyone!

Never heard this kind of thing that ordering notes may take file out of queue. Many people order notes when they are not hearing back from IRCC and it has crossed 6 months, which means file was already not part of active queue.

Did she said your due date by herself or did you asked her directly?

As for GCMS , it's honestly my first time hearing about a case that got delayed beacuse of requested notes.

I wish you all the best

Hehehe mo wa o! Okay you are right though. It's just that the way IRCC is refusing applications these days, it's better to submit extra documents to clear doubts. Even if it elongates the process, it's still better to know all doubts are cleared since Gcms notes are being delayed. There's no telling when one's file gets picked up again.
The fact that the notes are delayed may mean they are near finalizing your file so they prioritize finishing up the application over notes. An agent told me this about notes I ordered on June 7th. I didn’t believe him, but they sent me a pfl on October 7th and my file was approved on the 10th of October. I didn’t receive the notes yet. Maybe they will send them when they send the ppr. So I would suggest you go ahead and submit any additional documents that may help your case

She upfrontly said the the Feb 2020 date without me asking.

I am sure GCMS has nothing to do with in que or not in que infact I have seen people getting PPR’s right after GCMS notes come may be my assumption I am not too sure!

Feb 2020 is scary but what's more scary for me is that my background check is now running and this is something thry don't have control over

Oh okay.

One last thing, in place of 'signature', do I write my full name and sign it as well? Or do I just write my full name and put the date.

Thanks a lot in advance :)
