Now this is very ironic that you’re married and your wife isn’t.

Did you mean this is your second marriage and your wife was never married before?

Well it's a 2nd marriage for both of us. That might the only reason I feel they wanna interview. Just to make sure our marriage is not fake.

Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice. Our Spousal sponsorship application was submitted April 2nd and things seemed to moving along quicker than expected then nothing. I am a Canadian and the sponsor for my wife. Everything we have done to date has been with the help of an immigration lawyer and the lawyer is person receiving all the communications. I also believe this was a paper submission and not a digital submission.

I am just looking for a bit more information as to where our application is at. We only have access to the Online Services page (ECAS???) and all we see is this:

  1. We received ... application for permanent residence on April 2, 2019.
  2. We sent ... correspondence on May 24, 2019. If ... has not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please have ... do so as soon as possible. Please wait until ... receives the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
  3. We sent ... medical instructions on May 29, 2019. To avoid delays, please provide us with the information requested as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
  4. Medical results have been received.
We have also been asked for and sent in the biometric data. My question is, if we create a GCKey account and link to the application via the application number, does that remove the lawyers access to the application?

Thanks,
Jeff

Since you have an appointed representative, you will not be able to link your application to your GCKey account.
Only way to do so is cancel your current representative's appointment and declare yourself as one.

I have a lawyer working on husband’s case. I asked them to create a GC key and send me the details. They did and I’m able to look myself without removing lawyers access.

i sent additional documents requested to CPC Mississauga on Friday on the email address they provided in the letter. How long will it take for them to update the status with documents received?
