Tourist Visa in October 2019 from USA

Hi Friends,

I applied for Tourist Visa on October 2nd from the USA and got an email for a Biometrics appointment today. The earliest available date was October 17th so I took that one. I have travel plans for November 1st (already booked tickets) to Canada and coming back on November 4th and then to India on November 14th. I don't want to send my Passport and then stuck. Do we know any timelines if I give my Biometrics on October 17th then when I will get Passport Request and if I submit my Passport will I be able to make it to Canada on November 1st. Thanks.

You cannot book the appointment before getting the Biometrics Confirmation letter. Thanks.

Seems based on the average processing times quoted that unlikely you will get your visa in time for Nov 1 and is never advisable to book any travel before having a visa in your hands.

Thanks. I got a flexible ticket. I moved it to November 9th as of now. Not sure of that date too.

Applied: October 1st, 2019
Bio-metrics Request: October 2nd, 2019
Bio-metrics Completed: October 17th, 2019
Passport Request: October 22nd, 2019
Passport Dispatched with One Day Shipping: October 23rd, 2019

I have Tickets for November 9th. Please advise what are the chances I will get my Passport back within the time. Also, I have my India tickets for November 14th, 2019. Thanks.

You cannot book the appointment before getting the Biometrics Confirmation letter. Thanks.

No, you can. However you would need the Biometric collection letter when you are at VFS for Biometric.
