Dear All,

Hope you all are fine.
My 8 months old baby boy has multiple congenital issues such as Anorectal Malformation, single kidney, Heart related issues(DORV, ASD, VSD). He will be requiring multiple surgeries to get fixed over the next few years In total he might need 6-7 surgeries. Due to that I am not applying in fear that we might get rejected on that ground. However, we will be starting the corrective surgeries from next month onwards. I would like to move after 1/2 surgeries so that he gets proper treatment in CA. I have checked medical inadmissibility but dint found out anything related to congenital anomalies.

Even If i apply alone still I need to do their medical. Should I apply for Express Entry with family or with out family? and bring my family to CA after awhile once he is ok. Need some experts review on this case. Would very much appreciate your valuable feedback and suggestions.

NOTE: He just needs regular doctor's checkups and diagnosis related test every month.

Medical inadmissibility is not so much about specific medical conditions as it is about how much treatment will cost the health care system in Canada. Surgeries are very expensive and will put you over the threshold accepted. If you know your son requires surgeries, there's a very high chance his medical will be refused (which means the application will be refused). Best path to success is most likely to wait until all of the surgeries have been completed before attempting to apply to immigrate to Canada.

If you apply alone, your son still has to pass the medical. Whether he accompanies you or not in the Express Entry application - the result is the same. He has to pass the medical in order for the application tob e approved.

Are the multiple congenital abnormalities related to a syndrome? Agree that it will likely be very difficult to pass the medical at this point which would mean your whole family would get denied. Many of these surgeries are done in the first 2 years of life so dependent on the medical needs after that you can look into whether you think you ill pass the medical. Not only do you have to hunt surgeries, hospital stays and medications but would imagine that your child will have to have regular scans and appointments with a cardiologist which adds up. Also monitoring of the lone kidney if they are concerned about it.

Well thanks for the feedback. Within this few months we had completed 1 of his surgery and still 4 more to go, which is planned next year and i also became divorced. Is there any opportunity available only I can immigrate no
w ( assuming in a years time) and leave my baby with his Grand parents to look after. Once i get settled in Canada assuming it will take 1.5 to 2 years then take my baby there. I would be very helpful for your opinion on how can i immigrate to CA.

Even if you want to immigrate on your own, your son will still have to pass the medical in order for your application to be approved. You can certainly try applying now and see what happens.

No your child will have to go through a medical when you apply even if he is not accompanying you. On top of this you need to support yourself while caring for your sick child. With so many surgeries and appointments it would be impossible to maintain full-time employment. Even if your child is well you will have to pay for childcare. Don’t think it would be possible to attend daycare given the heath needs and exposure to childhood illnesses that go around daycares constantly. A nanny would be around 30K per year at least. Daycare is $2000+/month in some cities. You need to by earning a very good salary as a single parent to support a child. You would need to live in a city with a children’s hospital given how many appointments you will have. Just parking alone given the amount of appointments will be costly. Until your child is done all the surgeries the chance of approval are very low. We aren’t talking about minor day surgeries,

Just noticed he also has an anorectal malformation. Does he have an ostomy? That would also cause further costs. The longterm health of his single kidney will also impact whether you qualify. The need for eventual dialysis or transplant is one of the most common reasons for refusals. Given all the malformations I suspect this may be related to a genetic syndrome. Has your child been tested? This is another costly endeavour although not as costly as 5-10 years ago. Wish your family the best of luck. That will be a lot of time in the hospital.

Yes my baby has a colostomy which will be closed next year Jan 2020. Other problems are heart surgery and for kidney nothing planned yet. That will be decided on the condition of his kidney functions and might not need it if everything goes well.
Thanks dear for your kind feedback. As i was saying to migrate to Canada alone leaving my baby with his Grand parents to take care. Throughout the process of immigration which i believe will take approx 1 year and within thus time frame we will be completing 2 more surgeries. I do not wish to take him to ca now as it would be very difficult to mange him at the same time getting settled in Canada.

Now for instance, lets assume i got the ITA to apply and done with medical for me and my baby and explain everything to the doctors about his past surgeries and what is left to be done. I will also explain it in letter of interest / expression as to why i am not taking my baby with me now and his treatment is planned in which hospital and everything.

Will they consider taking me to Canada or may refuse me with some explanations? Or there is like no chance at all for me to immigrate at all.

Please Note : Currently i have done my ECA only and dint moved to the ielts part yet. I was thinking to apply after Jan 2020 after attending next surgery. I would appreciate your help in this regard.
