Hi,

I am a Canadian Citizen - moved with my family from overseas to Canada back in July/19 - rented a house & bought a car and my kids went to school ( all Canadian) - my wife is on a visitor visa - I am not sure; if I should apply inland or out-land - I opened a tutoring business in Canada and have a couple of clients so far - I travel overseas because I still work & study there - I go back to Canada every 4 months for a month or 2 - am I considered resident? and should be eligible to apply inland ? or I should I apply outland? and my wife and kids stay in Canada during the process – the reason I am confused because I work outside and on the inland application 5532 it asks you clearly your employment history - if I put the overseas employer it shows I am not residant/living with my family.

from immigration perspective am I a resident in Canada and living with my spouse?

your help is appreciated ..
You aren't a resident since you are spending more time out of Canada than inside Canada, you can't apply inland if you are not living with your spouse in Canada daily, you will have to go for the outland route

For sponsoring a spouse, is it necessary to show that one is working? I am landing back in Canada after my marriage and i do not have a job. Can i still start the sponsorship process? Any financial documents required?
You need to find a job or you need to have money saved up in the bank or show family support
IRCC wants to see that you have the means to sponsor your spouse

Hey Guys... I am applying for my wife under spousal sponsorship. Her birth certificate was made very recently. As per the additional document required it says to attach original marksheets and other docs. Do we really have to attach the originals or a photocopy will do. Can someone who has faced this please help me with an answer.... Thanks!!!

So, I contacted my MP for an update and found out that eligibility has passed and criminality checks are taking place now. Interesting to note that GcKey still says eligibility in process and we've received no messages at all about eligibility passing. So...contact your MP to get a real sense of what's happening with your app because it might be better than you think!

If they ask for originals then you have to submit originals

MP’s should be contacted for problems not to check on the progress of your application if it is being processed during normal time periods. You can also call CIC customer service if you really want to.

LOL. Don't you think this is up to the MP to decide? Many, many people report reaching out to their MP for updates. Mine was happy to oblige and even asked me to reconnect in October so she could check on it again. Not sure why you would try to discourage people desperate for an update from receiving one, especially since it doesn't affect you or anyone else.
Not to mention, the IRCC site actually says not to contact them within normal processing times.

How long did it take to hear back from your MP? I may have to contact mine as it's been 64 days and counting since I ordered my GCMS notes

Emailed on a friday...heard back on Tuesday. Bit of back and forth with a consent form that I needed to sign. Might be faster if you call or go in. I dealt with my MP's assistant. Positive experience :)
