Nexus application: do you need a valid visa?

Hi, Does anyone know whether I need a valid H1B visa to apply for Nexus? I suffice all other requirements (Canada PR, US H1B worker, have stayed in US for over 6 years on F1), but have not yet applied for an H1B visa after the status change. I am currently commuting using auto-revalidation. Thanks!

From the information I get from this website, you need to either have lived in Canada or U.S. for more than 3 years to apply. Is it right?
No one talked about needing to have H1B visa stamp, but when I go through the application, they ask you to upload it.

I see there are some posts where people got Nexus card without staying 3 years in canada, but they have stayed in either of countries for 5 years

Thats enough. No requirement for 3 years in single country. last 3 years in either/both sides would be fine.
