Hello everyone- Thanks in advance for answering this.

Do genuine companies send the aptitude test email while replying to candidate’s application?

Thanks @scylla, does this mean one has good chance for receiving job offer if the employer sends aptitude test as pre-employment requirement to a candidate ?
You still need to use common sense with any job offer especially if you are still outside Canada given scammers will try any which way to make their offer look convincing. What exactly is the job you have been offered, would you think it normal in home country for an aptitude test , have you been asked for passport copy, education document copies, what benefits if any, have had any form of interview or are you being told the aptitude test will decide if you get that far ?

Not really. It's just another method of getting a victim to engage with the scammers and invest time in the process. It means nothing regarding genuineness. The fact that you are thinking it might be genuine shows that it's an effective ploy.

I agree and am fully cautious but the email did came from the company domain and they have posted the job opening on various platforms too.

@zardoz - Still you think its fishy ?

well they haven’t offered any position or offer letter yet. It seems a system generated email but it says they are interested in my profile and want me to take this aptitude + personality test as part of pre-employment formalities.

There are many company web sites that are fake. The companies don't actually exist. The web sites are created by scammers to make fake job offers look real.

What is the web site / company?

If an aptitude test is sent as a pre-employment requirements, then it's most likely a scam in which case it's 100% guaranteed you'll get the job because they are trying to either steal your money or your identity.

Looks like there is a mall and a set of residential apartments at their Cambridge site on google maps
I called their US office at +1-800-695-6915 and verified location 150 Water Street South, Suite 101, Cambridge, Ontario N1R 3E2

They told me it's correct address.

still, these guys must be very organized if they are scamming people!

Central Square is a legitimate company.

https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/centralsquare-technologies#section-overview
https://www.bloomberg.com/profile/person/20914136
https://www.govconwire.com/2019/05/public-safety-software-provider-centralsquare-buys-tellus-simon-angove-quoted/

If the job offer in question is listed on the Central Square website, and you are communicating directly emails from xyz@centralsquare.com (NOT some other domain), and you have called the number listed on the website and confirmed.. then yes, this is likely to be real.

@21Goose, does thiis mean this might lead to a job offer ? :) I know this pre-employment is just for further screening but any trends if this leads to a job offer ?

No idea. Being interviewed for a job and not getting it is pretty common. You won't know till you have an actual offer. Not being a resident of the US/Canada will go against you, but perhaps you have some specialized skills/experience that will help overcome that.

If you are certain this is real, then yeah, go through the process. If at any point you're asked to pay money.. come back here and verify. That's a huge red flag. Also, a legitimate company is not likely to ask for your passport/private documents till after you sign an offer.

Good luck.
