Applying Supervisa for the first time

I am planning to apply for a Supervisa for my father. I been reading a lot in this forum. Some got lucky they have their visa approved the first time and some are unlucky even though they submit all the necessary documents. Now, before I submit my application I want to make sure I have solid and all necessary documentation before I hit “Submit”. Here’s my situation, my father is currently in Norway for vacation for 3 months and wanted him to come right here in Winnipeg before December. My father doesn’t have any ties back home. No big or enough bank account to show. He recently have a source of income from the rent of our old house. I’m a Canadian Citizen now and been here in Winnipeg for almost 8 years.

Here’ my wife and I can provide:
1. T1 for us both
2. NOA for us both
3. Recent Pay Stubs
4. Letter of Employment stating my job title and salary
5. Invitation letter stating that I will cover all his expenses during his tenure
6. We can provide a medical insurance that is good for 1 year
7. we can provide that we own a house

Having said that, are we missing anything important to provide to get approve? We are planning to have him here for a maximum stay allowed for 2 years.

Is there anything my father needs to provide?

It is really up to CIC whether they find his ties strong enough when he doesn’t even have a home anymore and is applying from another country. You should try. If he gets refused he should return home and apply again.

Thank you for the time answering my inquiry. I just want to update my post.

As I mentioned in my previous post. My dad is still in Norway. While in Europe he visited my oldest sister to Italy and stayed there for 2 weeks and went to my cousin in Paris for 2 days and back to Norway. I also forgot to mention that his receiving a pension from the government. Would that be a good travel history considering Schengen Visa is hard to get approved? Also getting a pension from local government could be a good tie from home?

It really comes down to whether he has enough ties to his home country. Supervisa is only to visit. He is expected to return home at some point.

He will leave Canada in accordance with the visa regulations that’s for sure. I just want him to visit me here and want to know what our chance is of getting a supervisa. He will be coming back home from Europe trip this end of the month. His passport only has 3 months left after that. Once we have the renewed passport, I will start compiling all the necessary documents, submit and hope for the best. Thanks again canuck78 for the quick reply.

So you will be applying from his home country? Assume that he will no longer be renting his home out or will rent something for himself then. That will make a big difference.

I will be doing it for him as internet is very crappy in the Philippines plus I will have time to review all the documents before submitting. Im just going to ask him to provide all the necessary documents and will upload all the requirements in my end (Winnipeg). He is now living with sisters and youngest brother (I will include that in my letter as well, I think it’s a good tie too) so all the rent money goes straight to his savings account, pensions and plus his monthly allowance his getting from us. He also has some brothers, sisters and mother that still back home that I can included in my letter.
