Good morning All,
- AOR February 14
- MEP - April 6
Inland application CEC
No emails since April 7 and no changes in comments on online application in months. I have been reading this thread, but I am not understanding the “ghost alerts” and IP1 and IP2. Some persons close to my AOR are getting Passport request and others are being told October / December. Any insights on what causes the difference?
A few Post-submission stages:
NA1 - "Not Applicable" 1: Background check says "Not Applicable", usually right after submission.
MEP - Medicals passed: review of medical results changes from "You do not need a medical exam." to "You have passed the medical exam."
IP1 - "In progress" 1: Background check changes to "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check." Usually follows MEP. Some applicants (especially inland and CEC) skip this stage.
NA2 - "Not Applicable" 2: Background check changes to "Not Applicable" again after IP1. Some applicants skip this stage and it is easily missed.
IP2 - "In progress" 2: Background check changes to "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."
NA3 - "Not Applicable" 3: Background check changes to "Not Applicable" again after IP2 (uncommon)
Ghost update - When you log in, the application says it's been "updated" but none of the fields have changed. Often considered a sign that PPR is coming soon. Not seen by all applicants.
PPR - Passport request: IRCC sends "Ready for visa" e-mail asking you to submit your documents to your visa office so they can issue your CoPR and entry visa if applicable.
CoPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residence: A document that says you've been approved for permanent residence.

These are not "official" stages, but they are used frequently throughout the forum to track processing of applications.

Hello All,

EE - CEC
ITA - 30th Jan
AOR - 22nd Feb,
MEP - 27th Feb,
BioP - 28th Feb,
Security start pending from some where from March.
in May called CIC, they told same thing Security start pending!
Jul 23rd : I saw a ghost update like my application got updated,
but nothing updated within application till now, will be calling CIC today.
Days remaining : 29 days

Edit/update: called CIC just before, they told my application completed all the stages and waiting to send the decision notification :)

Anyone in same situation now? usually how long it may take to get the final decision notification? my file is sitting in Edmonton office.
I got an email also on same day from CIC by saying 30 days left and all instruction how to send pp and photos etc instructions. Bit it is not the decision.

Are they releasing decisions by batches? I heard it from a friend.

Hi everyone!
I would like to share the information I got from CIC.
I just called CIC today and asked for any update on my application.
CEC - Inland (single applicant)
AOR - Feb 01, 2019
MEP - Mar 17, 2019 - this is the last online update and no ghost update after that.
I have 2 days left in my timeline
My application moved to VO Montreal -- last time it was at Calgary and background check is still in progress no specific updates.
The agent said they moved it to Montreal so that an officer will review it for eligibility. ( I am hoping this is the last stage and will have PPR soon!!)
Criminality - in progress
Security - not started
I was wondering if the security was not started yet how can they decide for the eligibility? Is that the same stage or are they done the same time?
The agent also said it may take more than 6 months for my application to process but they don't have specific date when will it be done.

God bless and good luck to everyone! More patience... :)

Yes its still under review. I did requested fo notes but havent receive anything. Hopefully soon!

last time I called VO was in Calgary.

Order your GCMS notes. You may be able to provide additional documents that will help your Eligibility review required and also speed up the process.

Every agent is different. Some of them they are rude but some of them are nice and will give the information you want to ask. Try calling when its near the allotted time in your timeline. Honestly is just a matter of time that they will give everyone an answer.

I did ordered GCMS notes but I havent receive anything. I requested it last June 17 but did not get any notes. They gave me a tracking number but I dont know where to track it? If you have any idea please let me know. Thank you!

Sometimes it takes a while to get the GCMS. my first order took over 65 days. the 2nd was around 35 days. You'll get it.
