Please help us stop worrying - we're trying to get my family home this summer. I am a Canadian sponsoring my dutch husband but our two kids are Canadian and the oldest is starting highschool in Sept. We currently are living in Ireland. I was approved as a sponsor in April.

our Ecas file on HIS permanent resident status says "Decision Made".

We signed up for a GCKey account and that says it's still in process and our estimated wait time is 8 months.

Which do we trust?

How long after your Ecas PR status change to DM, did you receive your Right of Landing letter? Is that always by post or can it come by email?

While I am asking for help - if he is Dutch, will he need to send his passport to London? Thanks

Don't rely on the estimated time left 8 months, it's rarely accurate... I would rely more on ECAS DM

Could you share your timeline? I think it looks good you will probably get PPR in the next hours or days.

EDITED: You mean sponsor side DM? and also for PA?

Heya,

So I was approved as Sponsor in April.

On July 10th Husbands Permanent Residence status on Ecas changed to "Decision Made"

Time Line:

Permanent Residence
  1. We received your application for permanent residence on March 22, 2019.
  2. We started processing your application on July 9, 2019.
  3. We sent you medical instructions on May 16, 2019.
  4. Medical results have been received.
  5. We sent you correspondence on June 14, 2019.
It's out of order, which is weird - 2. is the newest update and that was for receiving his police cert from the Netherlands.

GCKey just defaults to the standard 12 month waiting time and counts down from that, its estimate is not based on anything meaningful. It's pretty useless in that regard! If you have Decision Made in ECAS, that means you are almost there! You should receive your passport request soon. Congrats!!

That is such a relief. Does everyone regardless of country of birth/origin have to send in their passport?

I believe that if you are from a country that is visa-exempt (like the Netherlands!) you only have to send in photocopies of your passport. They'll give you full instructions though.

Oh awesome. We sent those in with our application along with pictures. Hopefully we're just waiting on the COPR letter and can book tickets home.

Thank you so much for your help <3

Passports are from Ireland? Ireland is a visa exempt Country to Canada. Please search the forums for "visa exempt Countries PPR"

This is what shows up for my sponsored spouse on his log in for Ecas.
mine still says "in process" you like to trade? I think the reason why yours went so fast also is because your Canadian children, I also have a Canadian child living abroad, she got her Canadian citizenship 5 months ago and just got her passport 2 weeks ago. We are all waiting here for DM:) I think they prioritize applications that involves children.

When was your application sent in? We sent our March 4th and they received March 23rd I think (2019)
