Contact documents not translated

Hi, My husband and I applied for Family Sponsorship from outside Canada. I was just reading the document checklist and I noticed that it asked for the proof of contact documents to be translated into English or French. We didn't do that when we sent them (they were all in Spanish). Do you think they will write back and ask for them to be translated? It was many many many text messages that we sent, approximately 150 in total.

Thank you
Lisa

They will reject the entire application if those messages are crucial to proving your relationship. They may not reject if the rest of your documents are enough to prove the relationship, but I wouldn't take that chance. It is your responsibility to provide a full and complete application.

You should get the messages translated ASAP and open a webform (Google "IRCC Webform" for the link) and send it to them before they reject your application.

OK. Do you think it's necessary to have them done by a certified translator, or can I just do them myself?
Also, to give a bit more context, my husband has already been asked for his biometrics and medical exam. So is it still likely they would reject the application at this point based on these texts in Spanish, or is it likely his application is already being approved? We did receive a notification from the VAC saying "The envelope for the decision on the results of your visa that has been processed has been received at the Canadian Visa Application Center at Mexico OC, on the date. We will then send this to the Canadian Visa Application Center Mexico OC." We then got another notification minutes later that said: "Visa application... is on transit to the IRCC Office in Mexico OC ,for processing."

It has to be a certified translation. Follow the instructions in the guide.

Being asked for the medical does not mean that your application will be approved.

Do you think it means anything when the notification says : "The envelope for the decision on the results of your visa that has been processed has been received at the Canadian Visa Application Center at Mexico OC, on the date..." Does that mean his visa already has a decision? Or is it just worded that way for some reason?

Till you get the actual result of your application, these words mean nothing more than the fact that they are processing your application. It does not mean a decision has been made.

When a decision is made, they will notify you.
