2 year pgwp on 1 year diploma !

I'll keep it as short :

In Fall 2015, I took Mech Eng. Technology in college ( 2 yr diploma ). Went to school only like 10 days in the entire semester, got suspended for the next semester. Didn't continue the course later, took Autobody repairing & painting ( 1 yr diploma ) starting Fall 2016. Completed it in June 2017.
In the final transcript it's something like this :

Begining of post secondary record :

Fall 2015 - Mech. Eng tech. ( gpa, cgpa 0.0 in all courses )

Fall 2016 - Motor Vehicle repairing ( MVR )
Winter 2016 - " "
Spring 2017 - " "
Passed
Degrees awarded : MVR certificate

So when I applied for my PGWP, I put Sept, 16 - June, 17 as course duration and was expecting 1 year PGWP. To my surprise, they issued it to the expiry of my passport ( Oct 2019 ) for 23 months!

I wonder why CIC issued my pgwp for such long period of time when I clearly stated 1 yr diploma in the form. So what do you guys think I should do, take my chances to see if they approve the pgwp extension ( i have a renewed passport now ) ? I only got 3 months left on pgwp and Im in EEBC intl grad pool. Need that PR.

Why you worried....Go enjoy....

One of my fried did fast track 2 year program in 1 year (he was allowed to go to 3rd sem directly due to his previous studied). So he studied only 1 year (i.e. 8 month) in Canada. He got 3 year work permit based on the letter by College that he completed 2 year program. He's PR now.


So enjoy. You have legal document. No need to worry.

Good that it worked out for your friend.

But in my case, I completed 1 year diploma, no fastrack or nothing. For some reason I got more than 1 year pgwp. Now I want to extend it further if possible. Do you know if I can apply for GCMS notes for my pgwp ? I would like to see the agent's notes before applying for an extension.
