Hello all,

My AoR is 23 January
Medical passed
No update yet

Now, I came to my back home in end of April because my father passed away and I’m still here. My work permit expiring in this weekend. I spoke to my lawyer who’s handling my case and he said I have to comeback before that and apply for my work permit. He also said I have to come there as soon as possible.
1). I quit my job so will I be able to apply for work permit extention?
2). Can I work after work permit application?
3). Will I be allowed to enter in Canada if I come before 2 days of expiry?
4). If I applied through a lawyer for express entry can I apply by my self for an extension?
5). What is the processing time of application?
6). What are the documents will I be needed?

Please provide me a expert advise.

I think your lawyer has point.

1). I quit my job so will I be able to apply for work permit extention?
You should apply as bridge work permit not extension. Extension would be the one to continue working with same employer...extend the contract or so.

2). Can I work after work permit application?
Yes, bridge work workpermit allows that.

3). Will I be allowed to enter in Canada if I come before 2 days of expiry?
As your lawyer said, you must come as early as possible. I would suggest to apply bridge work permit or extnesion right now. NOW and have all that proof with you when entering. I think you will be allowed, if you do all that properly and complete asap.

4). If I applied through a lawyer for express entry can I apply by my self for an extension?
You can but you are running out of time. Since, you need all the information of your PR application and need to apply online (everything and asap), probably, it will be best if you apply from your same lawyer.

5). What is the processing time of application?
You can check processing times here:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html
It is fair bit of long time. Apply online - not paper.

6). What are the documents will I be needed?
If you go online application, you have to answer a number of questions and it will give a tailored list of documents. Basically, it is work permit and you will have to submit the PR application documents for bridge work permit.

Please provide me a expert advise.
I am not expert. For the expert advice, you would need to talk sam lawyer I think.

Hi guys,
I crossed 180 days mark today,
My account timeline shows a quote

“Your application is taking us longer to process than the usual time
Also message depicts that20% applications are complex and it takes us more time ......etc etc..”

I believe it’s a standard wording used for everyone who crossed 180 days ??

Hi all
Just now called CIC
12 days left to my timeline
Just criminality passed in march including medicals and biometric
Rest everything has not been started :(
Aor 21 jan
VO- Ottawa
Has anyone experienced the same ?
I am exactly in the same boat with you. Called yesterday, a native agent received the call. It was my third time that I called CIC and he was the most unhelpful one. Earlier(27th June) an agent said that my Eligibility & Security is under processing but last day the agent said its not started yet.

Honestly speaking, I don't trust agent when they say that security or eligibility check has not yet started. If you see immigration tracker, many PNP-O candidates have received PPR in 65 days!!! If I assume our file is complicated then it may take time to get reviewed or get input from agencies (in-progress) but it can't be "Not Yet Started".

It looks like agents don't have latest information and they might be giving outdated info on our file. Unfortunately, there is no reliable source to find out the exact status than GCMS notes which also take more than 30 days. I applied for GCMS notes on 5th June but still waiting for the same....so ultimate solution is to wait or forget.....

You mean if I ordered on 10th of June then I will get update on my file by 10th of june in spite of the fact that notes were delivered on 10th of July
