Good evening everyone. I had a question to ask you about Accra Ghana. My husband is Nigerian but was told by CIC that the file will be sent out to Accra Ghana. Can anybody share their experience with me (relationship interview, the process etc) its really stressing that Nigerian applications are going to Ghana. And for those who are at the end of the process, how do you send your passport? Thank you so much. I need to calm my anxiety. This is a stressful process. Kind regards

A passport photo and your passport including the request letter . No need to fill additional family information if there's no new family member.

Apologies for the late reply. I am a Ghanaian. All i did was to submit the passport to Vac Ghana personally. I was called on 17th June that it was ready for pick up and I went there for it.

Hi, has your question been answered?

You should go to VFS Lagos at least 3 working days after you see your counterfoil. You can certainly send someone to go pick it up. There's a form to fill on VFS website for this and the person is to go with the receipt you got when you submitted and photocopy of the passport.

Proccessinf sent to Accra April 17th
Decision made for sponsorship may 15th
Pre arrival may 17th or so if am not mistken
Request for medical June 6th
Medical done June 7th
Request for additional documents by Accra visa office which was police clearance and also background Declaration form to be filled again IMM5669. June 6th
Documents submitted and uploaded on Case Enquires. 13th of June.

I am confused. Didn't you have to submit police clearance at the outside? Why did you have to send it again?

If you read through this thread, you’ll know that the Accra Visa Office for Canada handles about 12 other countries (Nigeria included) immigration applications. My husband is Ghanaian and he did not have an interview. Majority of interviews are for clarification purposes or if they do not believe the marriage is genuine. When you are requested to send passport, you’ll receive a letter that sort of outlines the process through your GCKey. All passports are submitted to the VFS office at the principal applicants country and they forward it to Accra. I believe there’s a VFS office in Lagos & Abuja. It’s a pretty easy and straightforward process. Once the visa has been issued in the passport, the VFS office will contact you via email or you can track it on their website in order to go pick it up.
