Lawyers and consultants also make mistakes. They are also human and miss things. Some are just not as invested in the process as actual family members. Weren’t you just worrying that your application would be late and wondering if you could be granted an extension? Your application seems to had bumps like others. Many got a spot and submitted a perfect application without needing to hire someone. They didn’t need a lawyer so didn’t hire one. If you felt you needed a lawyer to secure your spot and wanted to spend the money that is your prerogative. Some lawyers didn’t secure a spot for their clients. Both ways worked or didn’t work out for people.
Me? No I have not worried about any late or extension.

Why are people so offended when I state my opinion that hiring a good lawyer is beneficial?

I am not saying everyone should and can do it.

As you said it is everyone's prerogative.

But I do find people here will say things like daylight robbery or scam and cheat people when we talk of immigration lawyers helping clients prepare and submit their applications.

Just want to add some balance. Clearly some people would have benefited from professional advice and help.

We are all here to support and help each other and our only goal is to reunite with our parents/grandparents in Canada in the near future, so let's stick to that.

Cheers.
I agree. And I sincerely wish @YamPower all the best. I think things will work out fine. And I do empathize with her situation.

My relative's documentts were delivered on 12 May. He got a letter from IRCC by email today to resubmit Form 5669-Schedule A with signatures by hand within 30 days as the form sent earlier was e-signed which he is doing immediately. Blessing in disguise is that he got the file number starting with XF.

I spoke to a registered consultant and I had way more knowledge of the program and forms than she did. They're not all effective
Lawyers. They are the professionals. Not those immigration agents.

I would go with lawyers. They are more expensive but you get what you pay for.

By the way I am not directing this message at you but just for those reading in general and wondering whether to hire a lawyer.

You're exactly who I was thinking of when I didn't want to post that I missed something. True to form you had to rub it in. Thanks for the well wishes anyway.
Sorry if you felt that way. I sincerely wish you all the best.

I think it should work out well for you.

Hello don’t worry about that, it comes later in the process once you get sponsor approval and they indicate on this letter to submit a request to MIDI

Major Update:

I just got a letter via email from CPC Mississauga (I'm based in Toronto if that matters). I missed the IMM5406 Additional Family Information form.

I realized that I missed the form last week Friday June 14. I don't know how I missed it but I realized that I did when I read a message here about an applicant not adding her sister and I wondered what the hell they were talking about. Imagine, I went through the forms and checklist over and over and still missed a form. Unbelievable.

Anyway, I sent IMM5406 via web form on Saturday June 15. Of course I didn't say anything on the forum because I didn't feel like being lambasted for mailing my application days after getting ITA (got it on April 24 and they received the application package on April 30) and then missing something. But I decided to share because the letter has a couple points of clarification.

Today, June 21 at 4:04 PM EDT, I got an email from CE CSC Do Not Reply confirming that they got the form and they'll forward it.

Also today June 21 at 7:09 PM EDT, I got the letter from CIC.CPCMississaugaDoNotReply saying that they don't have the form.

"If you cannot provide one or more of the requested documents, you must provide a detailed written explanation for each missing document. You must also provide any other evidence or documents you have available to satisfy the requirement." This is pretty standard IRCC wording but the parts below

"You have 30 calendar days from the date of this letter to submit the documentation requested. When you submit your documentation, please ensure that this letter is included in the package. If your application meets the requirements for processing, it will then be placed in the processing queue based on the date on which you submitted an application that was determined to be complete."

further down the letter says

"If you fail to respond to this request within the timeframe specified above, your application will be returned to you. Your sponsorship application, and any related permanent residence application, will not be processed or be put in queue for processing under the PGP cap for 2019. You will not be issued another invitation to apply."

This whole process has been excruciating for me. There are nights when I didn't sleep because I thought I made a mistake. I started a new job on Monday April 29 and didn't sleep on the Sunday or Monday nights due to anxiety over the application.

There's a lot more about this application that I will share when it's all over. Let's see what happens.
I assume you have already sent the form in over night or something. I wish you the best. It is certainly a nightmare when it comes to missing a form or signature. Glad that you reacted right away. Thanks for sharing.

I believe this is a mistake on their part for not making it clear.
on the Form it says TYPE in your name to sign it., nothing about hand signing it.
Then on the Doc check list, it says this form must be hand signed to be accepted.
it should say both type and hand sign on the form.

You missed one form and they asked you to send it again?
Good to hear they have laxed the rules.
in previous years, your application would've been returned with no chance to fix.

Exactly... I was also victim of these two different lines...
