Hi All,

I’m reading forum for a while but never had a chance to share our case. Thanks all people who are sharing their timeline to get an opinion how it works.I congratulations all you who get great news.Unfortunately we couldn’t get any news after our file sent to Ankara which is writing in mail on 7 March.I’m learning many stages by reading forum. Here is our case:

Outland application-Principal applicant is in Turkey

Sponsor is Canadian

Application received date - Dec 19, 2018

AOR1- Feb 13,2019

Sponsor Approval- March 7, 2019

Biometric Requested- February 21, 2019

Medical Requested- February 23, 2019

Biometric Completed- March 1, 2019

Medical Completed - March 4, 2019

Results received from Clinic on March 5,2019

File transfered to Ankara - March 7, 2019

Started processing file - March 13,2019

In April online tool check list showed 5 line..

I have moved in another city so i sent them to inform and change my home and mailing address but they changed just my home address despite of sending them second email to change all.My husband linked the application but there is no Dm.We still waiting any good news..
What does the "5 line" refer to? Or what does it say? I think you're getting close... Did you get the email from the pre-arrival services yet?

Thanks

Your timeline is like mine except that I have not received the Biometrics request letter yet.
It seems Ankara VO is taking their time as I also haven't hear from them since March. :(

Hi everyone,

I am here deparately seeking a little clarity and advice on this process.. I’m new to this whole thing and many of you have more experience so hopefully someone can help. I am Iranian born but have lived in the US for the past 20 yrs. However I am also a Canadian citizen since childhood. I am in my 2nd to last yr of medical school and I got legally married in Iran to the love of my life in September of 2018... originally I had planned to do residency in the US and bring him here. However, Trump’s travel ban is making it almost impossible and it may be years and years apart—at least 6 yrs apart if he gets re-elected. Therefore, I am thinking of rerouting my plans to do a residency in Canada, which would be in 2 years. However I believe processing time and acceptance rate is much easier for my husband to come therefore...

I am reading here that for many of you it only took 7 months, others a year. I am not seeing much more than that—correct me if I’m wrong..

The only problem we have is that my husband has not done his military service, and in the chance that he should come to the US, they have made it so that anyone who has any affiliation with the Iranian gov (including military service) will immediately be rejected upon application. So he either needs to buy his way out or not do his service and just not be able to go back to Iran for several yrs after he leaves. They give passports temporarily I believe for those wanting to travel without having done military service so I believe he would use that as his passport...

I also was wondering if anyone knows the rules on if you can apply for canadian spouse visa after having applied for/applying at same time for US spouse visa...

Everything is so complicated and I am so stressed. My USMLE medical board exam in 12 days and I am typing this on my flight to Chicago from Iran after 6 months of being with my husband Feeling so hopeless and no one to relate to. If anyone here can shed some light I would appreciate it... ❤

Best,
Mahta

Hi Mahta,

I think that travel ban affects your husbands ability to travel but not his ability to be sponsored as a spouse of the US citizen.
You would also need to demonstrate to the Canadian government that you intend to return and live in Canada, which at times could be somewhat tricky.

In any case, I think that you may need a professional advise. There are quite a few law offices that specialize both in US and Canadian immigration law.

I want to learn that how the people reach the information and date of “Background check started”. GCKey account is very empty. There is no timeline information at all.Even they didn’t us to provide a police check although it expired in may 15.i think its valid fpr just 6 months(?).These silent mode makes me nervous.Or our case is waiting at one side..

I don’t have any opinion on the background check as I have a representative hence no access to my GCKey. Police certifications are required for countries that the applicant has lived there for more than 6 months. Old police certification are still valid if the applicant hasn’t lived in those countries after the initial period. However it is entirely up to the officer to request for new pc. If they need new pc, they would send a letter and clearly ask for that.

Ankara does take it's time. Only try to be patient each case is very unique. It's usually up to a year some cases go faster then others.
