really i dont know, but the interviews are always because of questions the officers have about the relationship, it has nothing to do with the situation of the country. There are many applicants from Venezuela who were not asked for an interview.
that make sense, has anyone run into the passport situation for Venezuela? My wife's passport is still valid until April 2020. I take it should be enough time before it expires

If in September you have not received news, tell her to ask for an extension of the passport is the best option you would have. Because to request a new one would be to play with luck

Question for you ... does the PA have to send their passport to an office where they live or does the passport need to be sent to somewhere in Canada. Like I’m just trying to figure out where we’re likely going to have to send my husband’s passport to ... thanks!
I spoke to someone about this, the PA is suppose to send the passport to "VFS global". For example, there's only one VFS global office in Venezuela, which is in Caracas. Then after, I think they send it to Embassy of Canada, Mexico. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on this info.

My wife lives in Margarita Island. I told my wife this before and she was so against using the courier to send from an Island to the office. What if it gets lost. The person I spoke to apparently dropped off her passport in person by going to Caracas and had to pick it up at the courier's office after.

I understand, but VFS recommends you to hand it in person and if you live far away use a trusted courier that is "Tealca". But that is already in each person if you want to take it personally or by courier. That would be your wife's decision to make when they ask for your passport.

Today I just gave in and called CIC. Wasn’t an overly productive call. She said she couldn’t tell me much about what was happening as our file has been transferred to the visa office in Mexico. So, still waiting ☺

Hahaha!!! I know. It’s like I know the answers but sometimes I just want to get through to one of them to see if I can find out even a little bit more. Where are you at in the process?

Application is September Outland 2018. I received my AOR2 March 12,2019. They started the application on March 1, 2019. So been waiting since then. I thought my application was 8-9 months in. But it's actually 9-10 months in now. I feel like this going be 13 to 15 months.

A friend of mine was saying that they have one year from the time the medical is submitted to complete the application. Sounds like something should be happening for you real soon!!

Has anyone heard of having to complete a statutory declaration for when a medical is not completed for an unaccompanying dependent?
