I wanted to know if the following are enough as proof of funds for my study permit:

I’m not an Indian citizen but I’m currently a resident in India, which is why I can’t process through GIC or Student direct stream.

1. Transfer of 10,000 CAD to a bank in Canada or paying my first terms fee. (The ground is open for suggestion as to which one is better)

2. My dad’s bank statements for the past 4 months

3. 50% Scholarship which is about 25,000 CAD from university.

It would be advantageous for you to apply from your home country, is there a reason why you would favour applying in India rather than your home country ?

1. 10,000 CAD is for living expenses, this is common for everyone regardless of where they are applying, or if they are going for SDS or not. If your institution is is Quebec, then it is 11,000 CAD. You don't need to pay the entire tuition fees, only what the university asks, (i.e if they ask for one semester payment, then that is enough). You don't need to open a bank in Canada to show this money, it can be a bank in your home country or in India.

2. If your dad is sponsoring you, then you can show his bank statements for the 10,000 CAD.

3. scholarship can be attached for showing lower proof of funds, or for showing why lower or no tuition fees were paid. If the scholarship is linked to you achieving or maintaining a particular percentage, then it may be given less weightage, unless your past academic performance shows that such a score is easy for you to achieve.

Well, I just finished my high school from India and I’m a resident here and it’s more convenient applying from India.

For the second part of the answer.

Are you saying that I can either show 10,000 CAD in my own account once I create one here in India or Canada

Or

I can show my dad’s bank statements for the past 4 months along with the paid tuition for the first Sem.

Either of the two can work?

You have to show both 10,000 CAD + Tuition fees. You can show as many number of proofs you want, but 10,000 CAD + First sem tuition is mandatory. you can't choose between one of the two.

You can show the proof of funds in your account or your dad's, it can be a bank account in Canada or in India, all proofs must be in your name, if not you must show a sponsorship certificate or a gift certificate to show the amount will not be returned.

You will need a sponsorship certificate, there may be a format in the forums here. I am not too sure of the process as I am going for an education loan.

Do note your fathers bank account must have the equivalent of 10,000 CAD
