Background checks will be initiated
You will receive AIP and then DM

From the previous posts, Going by January inland applicants the next step is the beginning of background checks about 4-5weeks after medicals passed.

just looked at September/October/November applicants and they are getting AIP about 3-4 months after medicals. Some of them got DM within a month of that. So AIP really seems to come close to the end of the process..

If you have a look at the link below you can see for yourself other people's timelines and it will help give you an idea.

Are you an inland or outland applicant? I thought inland applicants don't need to provide fingerprints.
that's what I thought...

I did not provide any police certificate from any country because I have not spend any time outside Canada for more then 6 months (legally in Canada for the past 12 years with student permit and work permit). I think the fingerprint might have something to do with the background check in Canada since inland does not require a Canadian police certificate plus I do not need any police certificate from any country whatsoever, that they need something lie a fingerprint to work on my background check? I don't know.

this is part of the letter i got:

"Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) requires that applicants for permanent residence and
their family members obtain original police certificates for all countries where they have lived for six
months or longer since the age of 18. The above-mentioned applicant has been residing in
Canada for at least six months.
Upon presentation of this letter, photo identification, and any applicable fees, please conduct a
criminal record check on the applicant based on fingerprints

Yes. The application can only be linked to one account and your representative will have already done it. You will only be able to see any progress by using ECAS

Asking for a friend who is waiting for his AOR. It’s been 44 days, most applicants have received their AOR but he hasn’t (yet), his application has been returned before. He was able to link his application today, and it says that it’s ‘in progress’, so that means it’s not going to be returned, right?

It's averaging between 1 - 2 weeks for most right now. It can take some clinics a week before they recieve all results back to submit your medical.
