Hey all,
Long time no see. So... called CIC today, the agent was super nice and he gave me detailed info about my application. Here’s what he said:

Medical - passed
Criminality - passed
Eligibility - recommended pass
Security - not started

Aor - march 13, 2019, inland applying with common law partner.

Wuestion: who sets eligibility as “recommended pass” senior officer or case analyst? On this forum I read really varied results. Any updatea fo you guys? Also, my laptop is being repaired so sorry for late replies.
Same status for me, we are on the same page. Waiting for the security to start just don’t know when. Did you ask for your visa office when you called them?

No. Forgot. Did you? I’m assuming it’s Ottawa... since I’m inland. Not sure. So do you think the senior pfficer will review our eligibility? Or we are in wue for security screening and once it’s passed THEN senior officer will review our case before issuing PPR? Hope to get PPR in June!!!!

I’m in land too but my application is in Edmonton and I read somewhere that things are not going so fast at this visa office. I’m speechless when I heard that news. I don’t know, hoping they will start the security soon. I think the senior officer will review everything and give a pass to the application after the security screening is done? But if so then when will they start our security then? Why they didn’t work on it yet since our eligibility is already recommended passed? Does eligibility have to be confirmed passed then the security can be started? I have no clue right now, only can wait. Can you call them back to ask for visa office that is processing your application now or where your application is right now? Just want to compare which visa office will process faster, as I know in this group recently already 2 March aor got their ppr and their aor is March 12 while my aor is March 8, and nothing is moving for my application since I called them last week Tuesday. When will they start my security screening? So desperate.

I’m calling them every 2 weeks... From what I read on this forum there are 2 theories.

First, recommended pass by case analyst then application goes to senior officer, if all good eligibility becomes passed, then security check and then one final review, if all good on the same day PPR is issued. (Or put in que for a bach issue)

Second theory, recommended pass, then security check, if all good senior officer reviews the application if all good puts eligibility passed and ppr is issued.

So, I’m not sure really. I think eligibility recommended pass is a huge burden done. I think we are either in que for a senior officer to review eligibility or for a security screening and then final review: either way, we are well advanced. As there are people with july 2018 aors whose criminality is not even started...

Actually, before this year, there is actual Ip2 which means the case is in the final stage and there is a bar showing that which stage you are
mostly, when you are in ip2 ,it means that you will get ppr within 2 weeks, otherwise,it comes with security screening

The ip2 always occurs when the bar showing eligibility is pass and waiting for security

I guess it may be right for first theory before this year.

but after last year ,many applicants pass their security first then final review

Hello Everyone,

I have a couple of questions. Below is the current status of my application

ITA: Feb 20
AOR: Mar 24
MEP: May 09
PPR: May 22
Question 1:

In the email it was mentioned that should I exit Canada, I would need an eta to get back in. However, I am currently in India, started my trip a few days before I received the PPR email. I’m returning this Sunday, would there be a problem at the immigration, getting in with my work visa?

Question 2:

I have included my wife as a dependent on the application. I am an Indian citizen while she is a Singapore citizen. In my PPR email, I’ve been asked to submit my original passport (including dependents) since I would need a visa.

However further below they state that anyone from countries that don’t need a visa(need an eta rather) should only submit photocopies of passport - this would be applicable to my wife.

Now I’m not sure what to do as the para 1 and 2 give me contradicting info regarding my wife’s passport submission requirements.

Has anyone heard of a similar situation before? If so can you help me out here?

Thanks

Guys,

CEC Inland - I just spoke with the lady on the phone today regarding my application;

AOR - Mar 24th.
MEP - May 7th.
Criminality - In Progress.
Eligibility - Not Started.
Security - Not Started.
Visa Office - Vancouver.

So far, lady confirmed no additional documents are required and no finger prints either.

Question;
1. My background says "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information". Isn't this supposed to be IP2 and if so, shouldn't my criminality be passed already? Why is it still in progress?
2. What is the backlog time looking like for applications processed in Vancouver? Y'all have any idea?
3. With this time line, when do you think I should expect my PPR?

@mau123 @small_251193 ya'll seem to have experience getting things right, what do you think?

I’d be hesitant to call myself an expert, just reading up this forum and sharing personal esperience about my application. I think everything is very normal wih your application. Expect criminality to be passed within a week. You should get a ghost update for that (at least this happened for me) then they will review your eligibility for some time. For me, to get it reviewed by an agent, I assume, was about a month. I have 0 knowledge on what’s happening in Vancouver. But I think your application is going well. I think our group should expect PPR is July/August. Bu this is my prediction, based totally on my own knowledge.

BG Check - In Progress

Just called this morning and spoke with an agent. He wasn't particularly full of information. He said I was being processed in Edmonton, unfortunately I have been reading that things are slowing down there.
He told me that my application was very advanced considering AOR date, and there was nothing unusual or to worry about. I was trying to get more specifics but he wasn't really forthcoming.

Very concerned that I will be stuck in the BG process. Any positive Edmonton process stories?

1. How long did it take for your criminality to be passed after MEP?
2. A month for eligibility to be reviewed eh? WOW - that's a long time. I was previously hoping to receive my PPR email by mid June but I guess I'll have to wait at least 2 months from now for it.

Thanks for replying though.

Fo criminality it was fast. A few days I think. Eligibility is a long long long process. They have to check and verify everything. Also, is the most important part. Becaus once it’s done then it’s security but if you are noin involved in any organized crime, terrorism etc you are pretty much destined for PPR.. it’s just a wait game.
