Let’s be hopeful and hang in there. I know how you feel (and so do many others) and some days I feel completely defeated too.
It’s unfair and unreasonable and they really need to get their stuff together.
We will get ours sooner or later. Fingers crossed for the first scenario.

I just don't know... How much will i have to wait more.. I'm aware there are many January applicants like me waiting.. but common.. what did we do to deserve such a treatment from them.. I have seen even April applicants getting ppr.. is our life a joke? Why did they ask for medical from us first.. why did we put the file earliest? To fulfill our dream as soon as possible.. everything was going fine until March.. after March they suddenly skipped is and started giving ppr to march April applicants.. why? Can they give any logical reason..i don't think so.. it's simply unfair and this makes me even more demoralised

To be quite honest, and no offence to Canadians, but no, most of them don’t understand the struggles of being an immigrant and what we go through.
Today I spoke to another one of many immigrants I have met in this country, and I could sense in that man he has gone through a lot and we both knew we could understand each other.
That’s something that native Canadians (in fact anyone native to a recipient country) will ever understand.

When I got nominated by Alberta I had a chance to speak to this nice lady in the Edmonton office, and she was an immigrant too. It was so heartwarming when she spoke to me and I could sense her honest feelings of when she gave me her best wishes with my application.

Seriously???? Really???? Is this how they work?? people from December are waiting!!!! They are not even going decision made to single inland December applicants and why the heck is this happening... What wrong did we December and January applicants have done to deserve this treatment???? Don't they understand we have lives we have jobs we miss on better opportunities due to this process... Don't have have any emotions to understand our plight!?? Waking up day in and out hoping that threads show done progress for us stuck applicants but no they suddenly start giving pr to people months ahead of us... That's how logical they.. I'm speechless , heartbroken and without any energy to be hopeful.. i just don't know why they are not working on our files and just why God is not listening to us
We're all in the same situation. I've decided to wait patiently for 19 months. No point losing our minds over this since there's nothing we can do.

There must be loads of us in the same situation... looks like it was uplift with application at the beginning of 2018 and that's why they are struggling. I called CIC few times, managed to speak with actual human only once. There is literally nothing what we can do to speed the process up; they keep saying that we are in normal processing time; done upfront medicals and still waiting! Some of us are more lucky than the others :( . We all put our lives on hold, not buying new house hold items just in case we get a golden email. Kids asking for new bikes…. Sorry no, will buy u new one in CA… and on and on. Live of an immigrant… hopefully kids will have better live then us… #notloosinghope…

We are all in the same boat :C. I wish this issue and the ridiculous processing times would come up to the public and the media. Checking the e-mail and the account every single day is extremely draining mentally. There must be a study conducted on how the waiting time of about 20 months makes a person feel exhausted and kind of depressed.
Also, a Closed Work Permit holder has the most vulnerable status in Canada. There are so many cases of wrongful actions taken against the Temporary Foreign Workers by their employers.

This is specially true when you consider they process EE on average in 6 months. Lots of us are inland PNP applicants and while I understand EE takes precedent, I feel like 12 months processing is a fair amount of time for PNPs. But 19-20 months is just too much. That’s longer than a woman waiting to have 2 babies!
We are waiting to move on with our lives. They clearly have no understanding of this because they didn’t have to go through the same. You would think they would be more sensible to this matter.

I'm in the same boat! while I'm happy for people from 2018 to be done with this nightmare, It frustrates me that 2017 applicants got shoved aside so they can lower their average processing time from 20 months to 19.
we shouldn't be paying to redo the medical, to be honest. This should be done at their expense or it should never expire. You were healthy at the time of sending the application, period.

Finally, venting does help but will never change the way things are going. I wish someone would start a petition on change.org and explain the current processing issues, for example:
- Not based on first come first serve
- Long wait and the uncertainty - how it affects your mental state
- The cost associated - Medical, application, express mail, Re-medical
- Missed opportunities - Can't change jobs for higher salary/ better work environment
- Economical - People aren't going to invest in buying a house or a new car with this type of uncertainty.
- Family - People wait for their PR for years to get married or unit with the loved ones
- Citizenship eligibility - people who applied months after you, could be eligible for citizenship way before you.

Unfortionaley, the way I see it is we're just an application number to them, they don't understand all the impacts of this on our daily life.
Anyways, hopefully, someone would take action one day to make things better for future applicants.

I am not sure how accessible would be change.org to the institution we want to address, but there in Canada there is a possibility to make a Public Petition to the House of Commons: https://www.ourcommons.ca/marleaumontpetit/DocumentViewer.aspx?Lang=F&Sec=Ch22&Seq=3
and actually, I think it is possible for us to do it.
