Three females have been working under the table at an Airbnb for 3years. Now two of them would like to apply for a work permit while the other one wants to file under Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds.

What advice would you give them?

I would advise them to talk to a lawyer. It's impossible to give advice without knowing the details of their individual cases.

Oh ok.

Ok but can their employer help them if they are willing too?

If you're asking whether their employer can pay for the lawyer, sure, that's fine.

If you're asking whether their employer can get them a work permit - that's where the lawyer comes in..

What is their status in Canada at this time?

For the one who is applying under H&C, what are her grounds for filing an H&C application? H&C applications typically have a very low chance of success.

Would imagine cleaning. These individuals seem to be from Grenada. The chances of getting asylum from Granda are very low except for maybe someone who is part of the LGBTQ community that has proof of persecution. Unfortunately just because you have family support in Canada or have established yourself doesn’t mean you have grounds to stay in Canada. If so, all people without status or refugees would all get approved. The working under the table will be a negative during your applications.

They have no status. I believe she figured she's been living in canada for a very long time and would like to apply for something

If they are out of status - then applying for a work permit is not possible. It's also not possible to apply for PR through any economic immigration stream.

H&C is the only option but has very low chances of approval.
