Hi,

Just wanted to check if there is anyone with a case similar to mine.

AOR: 19 Aug 2019
Applied from UAE through a consultant based in Dubai.

Current status as per GCMS notes:
Eligibility and criminality is passed

File is under security checks- notes shows 12 activities, all reduced under code S15. Our travel history is a bit extensive, especially for my husband (30+ countries visited)

VO office: Ottawa

In the 9th month- no PPR yet.

Worried about being stuck in security screening.

I had a similar case but got ppr on 11th April in fact now have a stamped passport in possession.

I too was in uae and applied on 14 aug 2018 and it took 8 months for the ppr. I went in security screening and think that your hubby is in it too. If eligibility and criminality have been cleared and still your processing passéd 8 months mark with s15 written on your gcms compounded by your husband travel history then most likely he is in Security screening

Congrats on getting PR!!

I hope you don’t mind me asking a few questions. Just trying to understand where my application stands.

Did you also have an extensive travel history?
Did you also see S15 code on your GCMS notes?
Did you apply through an agency/ consultant? I did.

Thanks

No I didn’t apply thru agency/consultants they r huge rip offs especially in Uae. They charge more than what consultants in Canada even charge.

Anyways to answer your q) I do have a travel history but that’s a back and forth between uae and Pakistan and I mentioned that. May be that’s y I was put under SS. But my eligibility and criminality were cleared by 1 nov 2018 and SS started the same day and took more than 5 months to finish. Yes I did have S15 and Info related to security was redacted. The redacted info appeared on cbsa notes

So your security will start and it generally takes 1-3 months, so do not worry. All the best

I used to live in Dubai for a good 15 yrs (moved cold of years ago to Canada on a work permit).
I had an extensive travel history travel through GCC, EU and North America around 70+ business trips
There was S.15 mentioned in my GCMS notes
I had applied on 6 Apr’18 and got PR on 14 Feb’19.
I was in SS for 8 months between 26 May(got the date from CBSA notes) until Dec.
My organization in Canada applied for my PR and they did through the consultant.

People are stuck for like 15 months as well
Yes, it can differ, you can order CBSA and CSIS notes for the update.
The time difference can be for any reason, Age/sex/country of origin/travel history etc. More complications means more time
