Hi There,
Can you please advise here,
I am a permanent residence of Canada.
My Girlfriend is Indian citizen and she has canadian visitor visa.
is that ok if she come on visitor visa and we will do civil marriage here in Canada.
I believe I can do marriage but can I be able to apply for spousal sponsorship ?
if yes, can I travel while my file is in process.

Please advise,
Thanks

Do you want to file inland or outland? The person sponsoring can leave all they want the person who is being sponsored should stay in Canada if doing inland. Outland they are free to travel. (EDIT:didnt realize you are a pr, please see Canucks suggestion below)

My only concern with doing a civil marriage is that you will have to work harder to prove the genuineness of your relationship. You would have to answer why you didn't do all the ceremonies and why guests were not involved etc.

A civil ceremony is a big red flag for an Indian marriage. I suggest you complete the normal ceremonies.

As a PR, you are required to live in Canada throughout the sponsorship process. A few short trips are allowed.
