Looks more like initial assessment(R10) must have completed.
So it's just R10 then? That's quite depressing, after more than two months of submission, only MEP and R10 has cleared? I guess I should buckle up for "over 180 days AOR no update scenario "

This more around security, the question is about Eligibility.
Ya, meant to share @qorax thread here: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/background-checks-explained.39578/

And to note that he implies that criminality and security are part of eligibility. Eligibility = POF, qualifications, criminality and security.

_______

That said this thread may help, showing someones GCMS notes and the sub-headings they address: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/i-am-stuck-at-eligibility-review-required-need-help.572282/

The thing is your criminality may have been passed too by a program assistant. If you order GCMS notes, in the incoming correspondence sub section, you will notice program assistant would have marked Review Status as "Checked" which implies it looks good and and in his notes will be marked as passed. But it can only officially be passed by a case analyst.

Also, security check can only begin after eligibility has been met. The call center agent will say the same thing.

To me, this actually looks pretty normal that only MEP and R10 is cleared around 60-75 days period. Then there will be complete silence for months. Your file will eventually be picked up after 150 days, and this is when things move fast, everything is cleared in a week.

Thank you. That's somewhat comforting

You mean most applicants files are picked after 150 days from AOR?

It's a little more complicated than that. I have noticed that country of residence plays a small part.

Suppose if you live in the US, then you may receive PPR faster than the rest. I don't know why that is the case but as per immitracker, not all but majority of US residents do receive it faster. Same applies for Nigerians too.

In my case, I have crossed 165 days and my file is still untouched and there are many others like me from November and October with the same issue.

Right now, the average processing times is around 150-190 days. But each case is different, so some may get it faster than the rest. It all depends on when the visa officer picks up your file :)

But it's better to be prepared to wait till 6 months :)

Yes, I agree with you. Do you have any idea regarding work experience verification?

My understanding is because the US and Canada share a great deal of intelligence, if the US has vetted a person for residency it streamlines a lot of the checks Canada has to do.

In fact, the Five-Eyes nations, Canada, the US, the UK, New Zealand and Australia, share all of their intelligence, which is why these candidate's applications tend to move fastest.

We all know how rigorous US is with their checks when they invite an applicant to visit/work/live in their country. Hence, it gets easier for Canada when their close neighbour shares their intelligence. Again, this is not true for all US residents and each case is different. But generally, 80% of US residents do move fast :)

I'm not sure about UK, New Zealand and Australia. I have UK travel history and I still have no update on my file.

I have read that the work verification goes like this,

1) In order for the case analyst to be satisfied with your work experience, he first needs to believe that you have provided a legit work experience letter. That is on a company letter head detailing your salary, your job description, roles & responsibility etc. Next, he will use internet to verify whether or not your company is genuine. For example, he will look for the company's website and try to check whether or not the details mentioned matches as to what he finds on the internet. If your company has a good website and history, then most likely this should satisfy him.

2) If not, he will try to contact the company with the phone number he finds on the website and will make enquiries regarding the authenticity of the work experience letter, whether the candidate works/worked for the specific company and the person who signed the letter claims who he is etc.

3) If they are still not satisfied, then your application will be moved to the local visa office. Suppose you live in India, then it will be moved to New Delhi and further checks will happen. Since local VOs will have more knowledge and information when it comes to such situations. I have read cases where officers from VOs have approached the applicant's office to perform checks. Once satisfied, the application is then moved back to the primary VO to continue with other formalities.

Generally, first two points should satisfy most cases. The third point is a rare occurrence but still happens :)

Hi I have applied for the work permit extension and yesterday I received an email saying that the fee should be $255 and I had paid only $155 and should pay $100 remaining before a certain date. Though I have paid the fee and sent the receipt as well. It also mentioned that if not paid before the due date the decision will be made based on documents provided.

But I was just wondering if I should consider this is a good sign or not. I am really scared as my PGWP is about to expire.

It's more like a little below 50%. Been studying in the US for 4 years now, and I my PR status for Canada is still vague. I think it's a personel issue. Because Indians apply in volumes, verification process is somewhat easier, being an Indian in the US makes it even easier. Also, more officers treat cases from India compared to any other country e.g. 1 officer might be responsible for all cases from sub-saharan Africa, while 5 officer might be assigned to Indian alone.
