Hi all! I just received the letter from BC saying they keep my initial Writing score, 6.5. I have already registered for the test in May.

Hey guys! I got my EOR update today. My initial score was:

Listening: 8.5
Reading: 8
Writing: 6.5
Speaking: 8

After EOR

Listening: 8.5
Reading: 8
Writing: 8
Speaking: 8

Test Date: March 2, 2019
Results out: March 15, 2019
Applied EOR: March 18, 2019
Email from test center confirming scores changed: April 8, 2019
Picked up new TRF: April 9, 2019
Location: Chicago, US
You must be really lucky! Of course you're a competent test taker, but 1.5 is awesome!! People barely get 0.5 :))
My situation was the same ( L8.5, R8.5, S8.5, W.6.5), but nothing changed.
Congratulations! Feeling your situation,I'm really happy for you.

My IELTS journey

IDP

1st Attempt LRWS: 7.5 8.5 7 7
2nd Attempt LRWS: 8 9 6.5 7
3rd Attempt LRWS: 8 9 6.5 7 EOR for Writing: No change
4th Attempt LRSW: 8.5 9 6.5 7.5 EOR for Writing: No change

I found a real IELTS examiner and took writing lessons for almost 6 months.

5th Attempt LRSW: 8.5 9 6.5 6.5. I am furious. How on earth could speaking drop by 1 point? And after all those lessons, I've learned different essay structures and had my essays marked by my teacher. Everything was fine until the exam. I even had 7 at my first attempt without knowing anything.

What do you think? Should I apply for EOR again on both writing and speaking?

Thanks! I was optimistic about my writing. I knew I deserve minimum of 7.5. Over the period, I’ve realized that the writing section is not graded thoroughly. I can vouch for it. They just check the structure it seems and not the content. Good luck to you all! God bless!

I wouldn't spend more money as you have spent so much already.
Is there anyway you can boost your score without having to do another test?

Hi All,

Is there anyone here ever done the EOR in Canada? I wanna know if there will be any possible delay on the process? I'm worried of timeline also due to I will lose my point after my bd this June.

I got 5.5 speaking on the test of Mar 23rd. And I need 6.0. Do you guys think I should apply for EOR?

Thank you so much!

AOR Received.

Passport Req..

First attempt, LRWS: 8, 7.5, 7, 7
Test centre: Jackson, Mississippi
Test date: 23rd March, 2019

Current score leaves my CRS too low(444) for EE.

Would you recommend I go for EOR, I need .5 increase in at least two sections for my score to increase to 450.

A job offer from an LMIA approved employer in NOC 0/A/B will fetch you another 50 points.

We went for reval for writing and the score was changed from 6.5 to 7. It was IDP- computer based. Go for reval if you are confident guys.

Believe me, I wouldn't want to spend just one more minute in an IELTS exam. Even the people working in the test center recognize me. I am a local in that establishment :)

I don't have any other method to boost up the score except a valid job offer which is nearly impossible to get if you don't have a work permit. Nobody wants to provide a sponsorship.

Maybe I should travel to Canada and take the IELTS exam there. It might make a difference.

Not all is lost with a CRS of 444. I think there are people with scores lower than that and still hopeful. I am no specialist but think the draws are unpredictable. In 2017, they touched the lowest ever of 413. I agree the cut-off hasn't been around 430s consistently but it did stoop to 439 as recently as December 2018. So you can hang in there with some patience .

However, if money is not a thing and you want to get this done and out of your way ASAP, go for an EOR or a retake. I wouldn't have recommended you the same if you were appearing from an Asian country but that's my opinion. Good luck.
