Hi all,

My application was rcvd to CIC - Aug 15 2018, AOR rcvd in Nov 2018. Sponsorship application shows the processing started on Jan 15th 2019, and status shows "In progress" As i see other cases on this forum, usually it doesn't take that long for sponsorship to get either approved/rejected etc. anyone thoughts please advise?

P.S - my husband already sponsored her mother before CIC introduced lottery system, and his mother got PR couple years back. both of us were on that sponsorship (where understaking is still effective), and both us are on this application to sponsor my parents . May be thats causing possible delays?
if you meet MNI for all parents and mentioned his mother in the form just wait your turn

Hi guys just an update medical passed last Friday, passport request today I received the email an hour ago, it says on the letter that they need to submit the passport at Ottawa, my parents are in the philipppines right now, can they send it tru VFS in the philippines?
yes, you can

Hi Yulia,

My gc key account status says Medical Requested today April 4th. Please update the excel sheet.
I have a question. do they send letter to the Principal applicants like in my case my Parents in India? They have not received it yet. What are the next steps they have to do for medical? Please guide me so that I can inform them. Thanks
you can find IME forms on MY CIC acc

Hi prettyAKO may i ask did you get medical request and pcc at the same time? I only got medical request for my mom a week ago. She is also in Philippines
there are 2 option now so don't panic, if you have IME request, you can order PCC

Not necessarily if you have a complicated case for background check. We received pre arrival letter in November, but because my dad had military record, background check is still in process.
Same here. We did Med and PPC back in Sep. so far only received two bulletins from HK office. Not ever a real pre-arrival letter.

what is it about?
The letter is addressed to my father name and says that parent reunification unit in London visa office has recieved your file. It also has a diffrent uci number. And it will take 12 months to process. It also indicates that the processing time starts when i submit the app which is sep 9 2018

I thought of sharing this information as it can be useful for someone.

I received my in-laws COPR letter or passport request today. I was given both option of submitting my in-laws passport either through VFS or to CPC Canada.

Apart from checking at the forum, I also spoke to IRCC Contact Center to an agent. They confirmed that I can submit my father-in-laws passport in India and Mother-in-law's passport in Canada (since she is here).

Note - My Mother-in-law will not get the PR before my father -in-law lands in Canada (since he is the primary applicant). You can only get the PR, when you land with the primary applicant or after they have landed.

Hopefully, it may be helpful to someone seeking more information

I thought I will bring up @Rockstar16 's message as there seem to be quite a lot of queries on submitting passport at two different LVO.

I have a similar question here:

I used Canadian address as mailling address for the application since my mom is residing in Canada under visitor visa. But now she's in China for 1 month.

If PPR comes shortly and I want to send passport to Beijing with mail-back address in China, do I need to change the mailing address of application in advanced???

I haven't been to this stage yet but in the old days we had the option to pick up our passports from VFS in New Delhi. There must be some similar agency working on behalf of the consulate in China. See if your mom have the option to pick up her passport through them, that would be the easiest.
