Travelling(2 weeks) while IRCC process application

Application Type: Spousal sponsorship for PR and open work , Principal applicant permit living in Canada
March 8th received confirmation of receipt of application from IRCC

Hi everyone,

IRCC has received our application and we are awaiting the application #. My questions;

1. We want to go on a trip to the US for maybe less than 2 weeks once he gets his work permit. My husband has valid multiple entry travel visa for CA and Indian passport. Link below says its OK but i want to hear from people who have traveled and come back during their processing time.

2. I have couple updated documents that werent available at the time of application. Should i wait to get an application number first to send those in? OR if i put the correct UCI number they will be able to link to my application.

3. Normally how long would it take for them to give an application number from the time they receive the application

4. Also i am aware of processing times as per IRCC. But would be nice to know how long people got their open work permit when applied with PR.

1. Asked and answered all the time. There is always a risk that the applicant will be denied re-entry and the app will be abandoned. Slim risk pending you meet admissibility requirements but no one can tell you for certain since it's up to the officer.

2. General rule is to not send anything additional unless asked for.

3. 2-3 months.

4. 3-5 months.
