i received PR recently and i claimed 50 points for the valid job offer that i had for at least one year after getting PR, but due to some Management issues my firm has decided to fire me.

is it an obligation that we have to work 1 year after getting PR? will it affect my Residency status?

Hello. I am planing to ride along with a friend in their car from Detroit to Toronto then take a flight from YYZ elsewhere. Problem is I dont have my PR card with me but I have my landing papers. Would it be possible to re enter Canada without PR ? Please note I am not visa exempt

If you have your COPR, you can enter Canada with it and your passport.

As I wrote early, my application for PR was refused (although I have visas in passport and COPR). The reason was province and employer withdraw Endorsement Letter. Now I am submitting PR application again. Advice me please what additional documents I need to send in order to avoid a second refusal?

You need GCMS notes to get the details. There is nothing to explain here except the stage at which your application is has been mentioned dover the phone.

If you sent new documents to IRCC, it can take 3-6 weeks before they are added and reviewed.

Hi,

Need your help in understanding GCMS Notes. I’m the sponsor on file and my file is stuck in background checks since Nov 2017. The criminality and medical was passed in Oct 2018. No update on file since then.

I recently ordered gcms notes and got them back in 20 days. The Secuirty section is all wiped out (nothing is showing except a blank page-I think they deliberately removed the information). Can you explain why is that done?

2. I have been unemployed from quiet sometimes(even before I filed for sponsorship). I’m not on EI Or any other assistance except I receive Child tax benefit. My eligibility for sponsorship was passed back in Jan 2017. Now in the notes it shows that they checked 4 times for social assistance on my file. In the end it says passed. I was told by one of the relatives that since I don’t work still my file could risk a refusal. Your thoughts on this ?

3. The file status says PA- put away. Please explain what does that pertain too

4. Lastly, do you have any idea how long can background checks take. It’s been 2 years and 2 months to my application and everything is done , medical, eligibility, criminality all PASSed even PR Fees is also submitted.

1. You may be in security screening. All security related details are retracted. To get them you will need to request CBSA and CSIS notes.

2. What is your status in Canada? If you are a PR, then you should have some source of income.

3. It has been put aside until the security results are received.

4. Security or BGC is a tricky issue. It can range from 2 months to 2 years or longer. Depends on case by case basis.

My application was received on 27th February so I still don't have a UCI number, should I resubmit now or wait until I get the AOR and UCI number as they don't have records of me? I'm wondering if they won't be able to assist me if my application is not yet on record. Thank you.

There is no points until your submit your application and receive an AOR. The CSE is only for applicants who have submitted the application.

My AOR is November 14. 2018 and moved to IP2 on January 21. I ordered my GCMS notes on January 29 and got them yesterday. My security hasn't started and my criminality is passed.

For eligibility, it shows review required with a note to review the Proof of Funds documents (the POF eDoc numbers match). As noted in the GCMS notes, I have shown bank accounts that have funds in excess of CAD 50,000 and I wrote I will bring CAD 40,000 into Canada. I have shown my proof through two banks accounts, Wells Fargo (about CAD 10,000) which is solely in my name and Chase (about CAD 50,000) where my spouse is the primary account holder and I am the secondary account holder. This Chase account was opened in April 2018 (6 months before APR) and I uploaded monthly statements for the prior months for the Chase bank.

The officer wrote that "Appears to meet CAD $62878..." but then goes on to say "Note: Review EDOC xxxx (the POF eDOC)

Question 1: Would you know why there is a Review Required for the POF eDoc?
Question 2: Should I send them another account where I have more than CAD 15,000 solely in my name and which is a much older account (~5 years)?

The review required does not mean there is something wrong with your application. It simply means that the case analyst wants the officer to review your documents pertaining to PoF before making a final determination.

My AoR is 23 April and the security started on Oct 5. It is still going on so I am probably in SS.

Should I order CSIS or CBSA notes and when will be the right time to order them?

In most cases CSIS is the first to start the process and finish it and send its report to CBSA, which then concludes its screening and send its report with CSIS report to IRCC.

The cBSA notes are very similar to GCMS, except that the security screening details are not retracted.

So you can request CSIS to see see if they have concluded their involvement.

Yes, you can travel anywhere and you do not have to inform IRCC.

I am the secondary applicant and my wife is primary applicant. Our eligibility, criminality are completed and background check is in progress.
I(secondary applicant) was with military(technical branch) for 10 years and currently working with a private company.
2 weeks back I got the request letter for furnishing Military service details and I submitted it 2 days later.

My question is:
1) Am I into security screening?
2) If yes what are the chances of getting PPR?
3) How much time it will take if I have been put into security screening?

1. Just because you have military service does not mean you are in SS. You should request GCMS notes. If your eligibility is passed, and it has been more than 2 months after that, this is an indicator that you may be in SS

2. Military service has no impact on your application. It depends on what branch of military were you in. Only if your worked with special forces, explosives, intelligence, your application will need more closer scrutiny, or else, nothing to worry.

3. Each application is different and I do not speculate.

@legalfalcon please help me, I want to ask if there is an appeal for refusals of PR under EE fsw stream?
My application was refused because of a POF issue. I had fixed deposits in the bank (certificate of deposits) and their value way exceeds what is required for an applicant. the fact is that the bank statements of the bank were kinda not clear that the CIC interpreted them as lines of credit!!! , knowing that from gcms notes , i redeemed one of those certificates and and raised a cse clarifying my situation and declaring that they are readily reedemable and that i've reedemed one of those certificatesa,attaching a new bank statement including the transaction of the reedeming processprocess t with the transactions of the new past 6 months , together with another paper from the bank stating the certicates of deposits i own and their numbers and values and maturity dates.
having sent this , i got a refusal letter after around 3 weeks of sending this..please advise me as soon as you can, so frustrated right now

Yes, you can challenge your refusal. It will depend on what ground was your case rejected and your documents. This will determining if you have to apple before the federal court or the IRCC Appeal Division.

Will this affect my background check? Does CIC call banks to check proof of funds?

No. But you should put the money back as you will need it when you land.
