That's a period to keep your PR. The time before getting PR can't be counted. Say you became PR Jan 1 2018. So, next time, Jan 1 2023 you will need to extend your PR for the next five years. To do so you will have to prove you lived in Canada for at least 730 days prior Jan 1, 2023. That means any period before Jan 1, 2018 doesn't even count.To keep PR you need to be in the country for 730 days over the last 5 yrs. Can days before getting PR count toward this number? My wife has spent over 300 days in the country over the last couple of years but I am considering working abroad in the future and am curious. Thanks in advance
