Advice for everyone who is going to apply soon.

Please check you are using the latest forms, especially the checklist. Here's the catch: a checklist form was updated in December 2018. But if you go here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp to check all the forms you need, you will see this picture:

So it looks like the checklist was last updated in June 2018. But that information is not correct. If you download the checklist and scroll to the end of any page, you will see this:

As you can see, the checklist form was updated in December 2018, but the page with the list of the forms does not reflect it.

The best way to make sure you're submitting the latest forms is go to the provided above link right before you are going to submit your application, download all the forms that are a part of your application, and check the actual dates on them. That's the only way you can be sure nothing updated in between you started working on your application and you submitted it.
Hi,was this updates on forms just this Feb or since Dec? Thanks.

Hi!
Which forms you do you mean? Last update I remember was in November
We can compare address if you want.

As for biometrics, if you didn't pay for it dont't worry. You will be asked for if needed/
Thanks @svilli for the reply. Checklist was updated 12-2018 and i think its the generic form (not so sure) on 2-2019. I remember checking cic if they updated the forms before my husband sent me our application package but I am not sure if I checked the form itself or jusy the list of forms to be filled up. Sent my application to CIC processing center in Sydney.

Hi, if it's just a checklist you're worried about, then no need to worry. We later figured out it was a very minor update. Please check this post, it's a great explanation, I think https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/february-2019-outland-spousal-sponsorship.609970/page-10#post-7619888

So, the checklist was updated in December 2018 (but if you have used June 2018 you're good to go as well). Other forms were updated in November 2018.

What forms are you're most concerned about?

Hi @alaria thanks for your reply. It’s very re assuring to hear ☺.(the waiting time really stresses me out ) The generic application form (IMM 0008) is also updated dated 2-2019.

Yes, you are right. Please give me a few minutes, I'm currently looking into it. Indeed some forms were updated in February 2019, as well as the mailing address. I'll give you some more information a bit later.

This is what I found doing a quick site search!

Might help to start a seperate thread or reply in the one I linked to get some more answers. I personally have no experience with your specific situation.
Thanks for sharing this. Even I could not find any case where the app was returned only basis this. So I am going to relax and trust everything is going well.

@alaria I remember checking the cic websyt if they updated the form sometime on January and there was no change on the dates but unfortunately I am not sure if I checked the forms individually or just the list of forms reflected on the website.

What is your case: spousal sponsorship or common-law?
