That's crazy! December seemed to be busy for inland applications too. I hope time went by quickly for you all!

They are approving them through online?

Also, do you know how long work permits are issued for through sponsorship?
Yes, they are approving on the webpage!
They are giving it for 2 years

Nov. 30th applicant here - just wanted to confirm the 2 years length for the OWP and I did see the updates in GCKey (changed to Reviewing Eligibility in the morning and then Approved later on in the day).

Some early November applicants have also had their Background Check started in the past few days. Hopefully CIC keeps up this pace for you guys!

Thanks for the update! That's awesome that it's a long term work permit in case something happens!

Cool, background checks too. I wonder if there is a public database to see how many applicants there are from each month

27th dec applicant here - just got my application mailed back today as we got a wrong proof of income. After going through the letter we got it turns out it has to be CRA issued and we included one from my husband’s work :(

Dec. 6th applicant. Just checked GCkey and it also says "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements." Crossing our fingers!
Cool! Eligibility for what? Is this on your work permit application where you see that?

That's terrible. And you just got it back? I hope you have enough time to resend. Seems there aren't too many applicants this year so hopefully quick response

Yes! It’s so frustrating as we checked everything milion times but clearly that wasn’t enough. It seems like a very small mistake though :(

Also a December 27th applicant, I just got off the phone with IRCC when I was told my application was sent back. It hasn't come to our mailbox yet, but there can only be two possible reasons this happened.

1. Some of my forms were outdated, since they updated them a month before I sent them in and I didn't check. Big mistake on my part.

2. I've been reading some people's forms being sent back because of the form IMM 5669. The forms asks you for an electronic signature but apparently they want a handwritten signature too. I don't know if this has changed since the time of the posts I read.

A real bummer. I really needed to start working soon. This is going to be hard.

A question about implied status. Luckily I applied for a visitor status extension last month. Haven't heard anything back, but my original status expires today. I know I have implied status until I hear back from that, but will I have to let IRCC know that when I resend? Will they have record of me applying to extend? Would I be considered out of status when I reapply? Or does the implied status save me from having to do anything special?

Looks like 27 is not our lucky number, lol
I think they do accept older forms but there is a time frame for that as I also had to update mine as we sent our application after a year of being married.
I almost skipped my signature in IMM 5669 too and noticed last minute that it has to be followed by a written signature, I can only imagine how many people did not sign it.

Yes, I believe you are who my wife is messaging. Unlucky us indeed.

I thought they would be a little more lenient on the older forms since they were outdated for about a month and nothing significant changed in them. I guess not.

I actually wondered about the signisign as I was putting the package together, however I couldn't find anything that stated it needed a hand-written signature too. Probably just barely missed it in my search.

how did you check with IRCC for you application status? Can I just use my reciept number?
I just called. Pressed the numbers 2, then 1, then 0 when prompted to speak to an agent. It was about a 30 minute wait. She asked for my receipt number since I didn't have an application number yet. If you're referring to ECAS, then there is an option to search by receipt number too.

I think Dec 19 was also not a good date...when my application was received by IRCC. I haven't received my AOR yet. Whenever I call them, they tell me that IRCC is working on Applications received up to Dec 19. I no longer trust the information they provide because I can see people whom applications were received after me have already got their AOR and even medical requests. Call agents at IRCC just say bullshit to get rid of the caller asap. Thats my guess!!!
