can you entry back to canada with TRV and OWP?
I have the same question!!
Technically, there shouldn't be any issues as long as your TRV is valid and you're leaving for a short period of time (couple of weeks max, I think). People on this forum say that usually CBSA officers let people in if they show their visa and OWP and let them know about their PR app.

However, there's always a small chance they can be denied entry, you can never be certain of anything with CBSA. So my guess is if the trip can be postponed it's better to do it than to risk being denied and having to re-apply for PR.

This is what CIC website says:

Hello!
Guys I Need help on how to cancel an online application i’ve already submitted.
I applied for visitor permit extension last month. My OWP was approved this month. Since I do not need the visitor extension, can I cancel it?
Thanks a lot.
I also did the same thing. I also applied for the extension just to make sure that I am in status... I also wanted to know that should we leave it as it is or should we cancel it?
If your OWP has been approved you no longer need visitor extension. You can cancel it only if CIC hasn't started processing it yet by sending a Web Form and selecting "Withdrawal of application" in enquiry type dropdown.

Just saw the link right now before it wasn't showing
All good, thanks
I forgot to add the link and I edited the post. I understand, it is frustrating when we can't trust cic call center which should be our primary safe resource.

I travelled back home for Christmas for 5 weeks and came back without any issues (I had a study permit valid until the end of March 2019, and I’m from a visa exempt country). The officer didn’t ask me anything, I just told him I was applying for PGWP because I finished my masters in December.
Maybe I wouldn’t recommend to leave for that long, but you can travel, just remember to take your permit with you!

When you applied for OWP did you mention in your papers that you applied for visitor visa extension?
And when you called CIC did the agent mention getting OWP after AIP or did they just say after visitor extension is approved?

Yes, I mentioned in application that I submitted my application for extension and I also included a copy for proofs. When I spoke to the agent, she said, the only way I would get the OWP is when the visitor extension has been approved or I would have to wait till AIP (of which the owp will no longer be needed if I have been approved in principle).

Do an inquiry on their webform about your visitor extension then because it took so long
I assume it took long because they changed the processing centre from Vegreville to Edmonton and I wish they haven't because everything slowed down apparently
And yeah I know right OWP after AIP is a joke... not going to be needed...

I submited paper based the extension record + OWP on Oct 25 in Edmonton.
I just linked to GC account the extension visa on Jan 30 and just progressing...:(
My lawyer also said that.
