And u are canadian at the time of her birth? If yes, i wonder why they needed to send your application to the psu. Weird. Unless, you were naturalized and the timeline between your naturalization date and her birthday is lean. Another is that they were inconsistencies in the docs submitted. Or They are doubting their authenticity or they were unable to validate the info provided.

Well I was citizen well before their birth. And they never asked for a single document. I called and also used the web form a few times. They told me they dont need any further documentation/proof as of now. And it is still in process....

Hi everyone , I’m just wondering if anyone has gotten any updates on their applications. It’s been a while since I’ve heard any updates from anyone.

Hi Everyone, I have obtained Candian citizen by Naturalization in the year 2008. I am working in the US since 2013, and I have applied for proof of Canadian for my daughters, 4 and 7 years old in the year 2017, see my timeline below.

I recently saw an update to my ecase status (#3) which states they sent a letter in Nov 2017, which I never received. I followed with them via IRCC web form and got an email response below from them with a letter attached "Notice of delay".

"This email is a reference to your inquiry received at the Client Support Centre. Attached to this email is a copy of your Notice of Delay letters as requested. If you have additional questions, please visit our website at www.cic.gc.ca."

I've have requested CAIPS notes so I can determine why our application was referred to the Program Support.

Timeline:
  1. We received your application for a citizenship certificate (proof of Canadian citizenship) on September 29, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on October 26, 2017.
  3. We sent you a letter on November 26, 2017. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. (I never received)

It's unclear to me why some applications are escalated to program support. What are the grounds of the CIC in doing so?

For example, in the case of @am04, is it because the children are minors? Or is because he is residing out of the country and no tax filings/returns can be found on file. Correct me if im wrong, canadians below are 18 are eligible for some sort of "allowance" when they are in Canada. Is that what CIC is trying to reduce or eliminate?

Hi everyone,

I am in a similar position to others in this thread. I applied for proof of Canadian citizenship (through descent).
  1. CIC stated they received my application on January 9, 2018.
  2. CIC stated they sent me correspondence acknowledging receipt of my application on February 8, 2018.
  3. I contacted CIC in July 2018 asking for the status of my application and received the response "We verified the information provided and can confirm that your application was transferred to a special unit and is still in process."
  4. My online status was updated to state that CIC sent me correspondence on April 10, 2018, which I never received.
  5. I received a letter in the mail after the July 2018 response dated April 10, 2018, stating that my application was transferred to a special unit.
  6. My status has not changed from "Application Received".
  7. I am live outside of Canada.
I do not expect to receive any updates until the application is finally processed, and am curious to keep hearing about other's experiences with this process.
Hello,

I have an update on my earlier posting. My Client Application Status is still "Application Received", however the CIC summary of my status now states "A decision has been taken on your application. You should receive correspondence within the next three months." I saw the update on February 1, 2019, but there was no date listed for when CIC made a decision.

I will update once I have received the CIC correspondence with the decision.

Yes please. Do update us. Coz based on my readings with others situation status would usually read as "we have sent your citizenship certificate........" if it is approved.

Where did u get the CIC summary?

Has anyone been processed by the Program Support Unit? I sent my application mid October 2017 which went into processing in November and no news from then.

My case is not even complex. Simple name split - but since there is no option to enter that I had to do a name change. Worst mistake.

I am having the exact same issue!!! I sent my application May 2018 and have received notification that it was sent to the psu in September and I think it’s because my birth name is different from the name I use for drivers license, health card, and also in my every day life. I believe my adoptive mother changed my name on the forms she filled out once I became a citizen and ever since. Probably this discrepancy is the problem??? Anyone else ever heard of a similar situation??

I like to understand this further. Was your name something like "Michelangelo" then u had a name change to "Michel Angelo"?
