One final update on my application
  • Decision Made: Jan 30, 2019
  • Oath Letter: Feb 7, 2019
  • Oath Ceremony: Mar 1, 2019

A fun and amusing fact is that the oath ceremony was labeled as a "special one", happening in Vancouver Convention Center during a Fan Expo event.. and will have "special" guest stars.. Imagine Batman or Superman handing over the papers :D

Anyway, best of luck to everyone here.. It's been a fun year of waiting..

Hi guys,

Have you guys got asked to do IRCC Survey for Express Entry with mail as below?

I did it already though, there were couple of confusing questions in it, and am wondering if this feedback might affect
my citizenship case's closure worse even though it says it's anonymous as well as can't identify who I am.

I thought first I'd rather not go with this, but took part in to help IRCC though, I worry if it may cause any unwanted result due to inaccurate questionnaires in it. What do you guys think of it. My citizenship is on 'Decision Made' status and waiting for 'Oath invite' for a month so far.

Hello XXX,

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is inviting you to answer a survey about your settlement and labour market experiences in your first years in Canada, as an immigrant who was admitted as a permanent resident between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2018.

If you already completed the survey, thank you very much.

If not, we encourage you to participate in the survey – it will only take you about 20 minutes to complete. The survey will remain open until Friday, February 15, 2019.

This survey is voluntary. However, your perspectives will help IRCC develop programs and services that meet the needs of new immigrants to Canada.

Your answers will be anonymous and your name will not be attached to your responses.

Not at all. The survey has no bearing on your citizenship application. In fact it says your answers will be anonymous and YOUR NAME WILL NOT BE ATTACHED TO YOUR RESPONSES. Meaning; IRCC has no way of knowing who gave what answers.

I called yesterday and I got a standard response of your within the 12 month processing time.
They checked my file and said nothing is wrong ive just had to wait it out.
Yeah I guess we have to wait till the full 12 months is over . My application was pretty straight forward. . They probably have too many to process

Hello everyone,

My husband took the oath yesterday. It was really nice. My kids cooperated very well and held hands with their dad when receiving his citizenship, the judge gave them high fives which was really nice.

The hard part was waiting in line to take pictures with the judge. My gosh the line was super long I think we waited 15 minutes or more. There were many kids there crying and I think the reason why my kids cooperated was because i brought their iPads made sure they were on the lower volume and my baby was eating his snacks which they said was okay.

The oath lasted I believe 45-1 and from in and out it was 2 hours exactly.

For everyone who are still waiting, don’t worry it’ll come. Just be patient!!

Admin please update the sheet for us, they changed the status to COMPLETE today.

Thanks everyone again and good luck! :)

Hi

Please help me to understand why I have not received the email for test?

1- The application received by immigration office on March 22-2018
2- On 14 of April 2018 discovery of Canada file has been received
3- The application processing started at 14 of June 2018
Now the questions :
1- As I checked the processing time is 12 Months and What is the start point of that 12 months? 22 of March / 14 of April or 14 of June
2- Then if the start of the processing time is 22 of March (As it is, based on the CIC rules) why after 10 months I did not receive the test schedule? Is it normal?
3- I called the CIC to check my application status and they said the file is sent for Mississauga immigration office and the 12 months processing time is an average time that is shown in the website. So the processing time could be 23 Months + 1 Months / 2 = 12 Months ? Between one months to 23 months? It is not acceptable?

, I am just waiting for the exam and then oath ceremony for more than 5 months and It is a long time.
Could you please share your idea and answers?

It can be anything, there is no upper limit to it, average is 12 months, case by case can be different ...

Once you pass the 12 month period, you have more ground to inquire/push them on the process of your application. Before that you will most likely receive general response if you were to contact IRCC.
However, as you can see from the forum, there are a lot of people from Jan 2018, Feb 2018 and even from 2017 who have not received any test invite at all.
I suggest you wait till the beginning of April and then give IRCC a call/web form/MP etc.

Dear Admins,
