Hello beautiful folks,

I was filling out IMM 5669 then had some doubts as below.. (Outland/Common Law)

1. I was living in Sweden with working holiday visa for 1 year and working as Au pair for 6 months.

Even though I was eligible for working in Sweden legally, It was part time and cash job so now I'm thinking if I have to include this on the form since I didn't pay tax.

Should I say I was on vacation only and made some occasional trips to other European countries without mentioning Au pair experience?

2. I did my exchange program in Mexico for 1 year without student Visa(with visitor/tourist one) back in 2014. The thing is, originally I wanted to stay there for 6 months then the University said I don't need one since it is only for 1 semester. Then after first semester, I extended my study 1 more semester. What I had to do to stay longer was simply leaving the country and coming back with renewed tourist visa, which is quite common for some exchange students in Mexico.

Also I have an acceptance letter from the Mexican university, a certificate which proves I spent 2 semesters there from my home university and plenty of pictures I took there.

But I know this might be problematic in CIC' eyes and this case is even more complicated than my first doubt since I can't hide it from my education history. Furthermore, I met my boyfriend(the sponsor) during that time and now I'm working in Mexico(with working visa). Having spent quite some time in Mexico(more than 3.5 years), I think CIC will ask if my stay was legal...

What should I do? Prepare a LOE explaining that it is so common in Mexico so it was not a problem? It would sound more ridiculous, wouldn't it?

Your advice will be greatly appreciated... !

Hi

Nothing that you have said is a reason to refuse a PR app. However, lying about it can be. Just be honest. There is no need to write an LOE.

Thank you for taking your time to answer!
I still have some doubts..

So in this case, may I put activity type : Employment(Sweden), Educational activity(Mexico) and Status in country : visitor (for both countries)?

or matching its status with the activity type since I don't need to prove what my legal status was or if I was paying tax at the moment?
I read on other threads that CIC is not asking documents/proof for what's written out on Personal history.. but i'm still worried about it.

Put the correct activity and correct status. Again, not a reason to be refused.
