huh. Didnt know officer could overturn "met" as well :/
Met/Recommended passed are determined by case processing agents and case analysts respectively which still needs to be reviewed & finalized by an officer.

In this case whats the difference between met/recommended pass if they both still have to be reviewed? is it just RR?

My research shows that
Eligibility Met is made by the case processing agent at the Central intake Office
Eligibility Recommended passed is made by the case analyst at any of the VO's (Ottawa, Montreal, etc).
So technically they mean the same thing.

For all October ip2 people over here.

One of my friend had eligibility as recommended passed when he received gcms notes in November. What is strange is that he received his recent notes and his eligibility changed from recommended passed to review required. His file was sent to officer for review and he had objection on POF funds which changed his eligibility status.

On calls, he was always told his eligibility is met.

It’s good that he ordered notes again and came to know why there is so much delay after moving to ip2 in October. I would suggest all October ip2 guys to order notes as there might be some problem with your application.

Good luck everyone!
I think this is a one-off case tho. Because @Nishika22 note shows that her eligibility is still Met. I believe most of the October IP2's are awaiting officer's review. No officer has looked into their applications yet.

It seems to me as well.
I asked the call centres opinion as well and he told me the same thing that if they needed additional verifications its usually done in Canada itself before being sent.
Do you have any idea how long it could take? my medicals expire around april 18 not sure if they will ask for remedical or extend it (wifes expire in June so I hope they extend it)
Difficult to give a timeline but only 1 Medical is expiring in 2 months hope they extend the medical.

It surely can sir... People can make mistakes or interpret things which are not consistent with the policy eventually the officer has the authority to approve the case...

Like for me I am part of the sanctioning committee for my organization and many a times I turn down cases recommended by the branch and regions.

yep I definitely get that. I was surprised cos I thought recommended pass and met meant 2 different things until @tobs cleared it out.

On one side GCMS, CBSA etc notes are really initiative to give applicant near complete information. But I really wish CIC would make their communication better
