Random thought - for the American citizens who are applying for PR - do you think the government shutdown is affecting our timelines as far as BCGs go? I know that we're in a quiet period right now as far as getting AIP and SA, but I'm just thinking...

Okay, I have a question for everyone who's done their RCMP police certificate clearance. I'm at the local police station for my dad's PCC and I was asking the lady if the results would be sent directly and how long it would take.

She said the results come here and we have to pick them up and it takes 1.5 - 2 months for the results to come in.

Now I'm freaking out. Our deadline to submit results is January 27th, 2019. I did ask her if we can expedite the process and she said no, RCMP does it on a priority basis.

Is this normal? Did anyone else face this?? I'm getting really worried now.
You went to the wrong place. Don't go to the police station. You need to go to an accredited company that will do the process for you much faster. Here's where I went (in Scarborough):

RCMP's Accredited Fingerprint Company

Wow, that's really different from what I've done. After giving my fingerprints, I got a paper with the fingerprints. I'm not sure if that is all or if they send additional results to them... But I left the RCMP facility with this paper - I didn't ask how long it would take for them to send because I had understood that it would be electronically sent, so it would be on-time (but now I'm not sure). That place I went was like a ghost town. I did everything on the same day CIC requested and as they gave me the paper I uploaded via web form and also on my application at GCKey. When you upload on GCKey they change the status from "Your action is needed" to " Submitted" again... So I believe as long as you send them, it should be fine.
Have you got any paper from them?
Good luck!

I didn't know of this! They told me when we were done the process that it would take 1.5 - 2 months.

The police station gave me proof of applying and RCMP acknowledgment that they've received it.

Yes, I got a paper with my father's finger prints as proof of submission and also a paper from RCMPs side acknowledging they have received it.

However, they said the results come to the police station, then they call me, and I pick up and mail to CPC Mississauga.

It's really confusing. I had trouble parsing the information too.

I would go to the accredited company now and order a new one. You will receive the document you need in about a week on the mail. It has pictures of your fingerprints. You scan it and submit it on CIC.

Oh, I see...
When I called this RCMP facility before going there, they were aware of everything, they asked if I had the CIC request... so it sounded like they knew exactly what to do. Everything went smoothly when I got there. Also, I paid a fee of $66.
So, I don't know... Have you got your father's fingerprints done and this paper with the fingerprints?

I did go there and he advised to wait til Monday and call RCMP. If they haven't started processing then do it through them.

Just logged into my GCKey and work permit application has changed to "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements." - September 28 applicant here
Thank you so much for sharing! I've just checked mine and it says the same! "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements."
Good luck to all September applicants!
