I left Canada in 2008 due to family emergency. PR card expired in 2012. Now I want to move back to Canada. What should I do?

If you have no humanitarian and compassionate reasons to apply for a PR travel document, then renounce your status and reapply.

If you have the PR travel document, you don't need your expired PR to enter Canada. Apply the travel document at your nearest Canadian consulate.

You will likely be reported for not meeting your RO at the border especially if you are not from a visa exempt country. Moving to Canada after a 10 year absence is unlikely to be successful.
