Hi guys,

Took the test on the 9th got 19/20. Few questions were tricky.
Was told after the interview that I will need to wait for security clearance, which might take up to 3 months.
Wasn't expecting that!

Good luck to all of you.

For your Q1, I went ahead and mentioned the date within the eligibility period (i.e. start date of the eligibility period) and not the date by when it was issued. I did not have any issues in my application being processed. Hope this helps.

Thank you! And about about for section 9 b)? Did you use the start of eligibility date or did you write down the actual date of when the work permit/student permit was issued?

It will not make big difference if you write the actual date when you started working or from eligibility period both works. As long as you not miss any time within eligibility periods.

Any known good sources for citizenship test, such as apnatoronto or something similar? People who gave the test - how long and hard did you study. Please share test experiences. (No need for and DO NOT PASTE actual questions asked!!)

Congrats maei for your score! When you say tricky question what do you mean by that. I have my exam next week just freaky out a bit ;-)

Thanks,
I just think that I should've worked a little more on analyzing and understanding the material than on memorizing. You could get caught off guard for a second but then it works out :) I usually get anxious during any test no matter how well I prepare. Don't freak out, just make sure you are comfortable with the study guide and you'll be fine, don't get distracted by all the additional material and tests out there.
Best of luck!

I found the link of this blog https://livelearn.ca/article/about-canada/taking-your-citizenship-test-5-tips-to-ace-it/ in one of the threads here. I tried all the practice test sites mentioned in item 5 in the said blog.

I read the book probably 3-4 times. First time was when I received the AOR, then I read it again within the 2 weeks prior to my test dates. I answered the practice tests in between reads. I found some questions/answers in the practice tests confusing, so I just referred to the book/study guide. I also made my own flash cards, and re-read the book the night before my exam date.

I was so nervous during the waiting time but I found the test easy, coming from someone who is challenged when it comes to history ( names and dates). Good luck

You caught me I am analyzing more than memorizing which is confusing me. I will try to follow your advice. ;):)
