I am applying for a student visa to study in Canada and my family would like my brother to come with me just to make sure everything is well and come back to Egypt again. He used to live and study masters degree in Spain so he knows how to live alone and study and my parents are sending him with me for two weeks to help me with this because he has experience, and it is my first time to live and study alone. I traveled many times before as a tourist alone to europe usa and uk but never living and studying alone for prolonged time. and he came back and now works as a manager in a big company in Egypt.

how should we write his cover letter describing his motivations to visit Canada ?

I recommend your brother applies as a tourist/family visit (not mentioning about accompanying you for a few weeks). He must apply after you get your study permit

thank you Bryanna for your response. I worry if we do this then he wont be able to travel with me at the same time because I will apply this week and my studies start late april semester . and visa processing for cairo egypt takes 10 weeks. we dont have 20 weeks till my studies commence. are there any other options ?

You need to prepare yourself for the possibility that he will not be able to accompany you. His visa is far from a sure thing.

Just to add:
Processing times are just estimates. Actual processing time can change depending on the application, especially if background checks are required

I understand, I applied for one for last semester and was rejected because I didnt follow the instructions and did not include a cover letter or a study plan. I didnt know I should. I also didnt write anything to tie me to egypt. this time i did all that. I have never been refused any visa before. I also have a valid USA visa.

Do ensure you write a good SOP + prove you have ties to Egypt (assuming you are a citizen, else you need to prove your ties to your original country as well) + finances to cover tuition, accommodation, etc + your travel history will help.

The study program must be a progression of your previous qualifications + career. For example, you would not apply for a diploma program if you have a Masters degree in the same field of study

are you sure ? it wont affect min even though we are planning to apply at the same time?

My brother has also never been refused a visa before he was a student in spain and has many schengen visas
Short answer:
Your brother must NOT apply at the same time as yourself. He must wait until you have your study visa. Otherwise it would seem like he is moving with you to stay with you for the duration of your study program. His previous travel does not matter

I am a citizen and in my new application i proved my ties and have enough finances and perfect record travel history.
the diploma i am pursuing is not related to my previous field of study which is another reason my visa was refused the first time. Its a career shift. am an economics graduate but through the years i discovered my true passion which is complementary medicine. I took many courses throughout the years and decided that it is time to take it to the next level and become properly certified so i can come back and open my own clinic for traditional Chinese medicine. the Egyptian government only approved it last year and it is such a booming market here. and I wrote all these things in my cover letter and study plan this time so the visa officer can see where i am coming from. would that be sufficient ?

and about my brother I will speak to my parents and tell them what you advised me . thank you
